This Wednesday (20), Flamengo will face Internacional again , at the Beira-Rio Stadium, for the second leg of the round of 16 of the Copa Libertadores. The Most Beloved won the last two matches against the Gauchos : 1-0 at Maracanã and 3-1 last Sunday (17), for the Brasileirão.
Flamengo can only play with a draw to advance to the quarterfinals. Colorado needs at least a two-goal margin to qualify. If they win by just one goal, the final will be decided by penalties.
The Colorado delegation arrived in Porto Alegre on Tuesday night (19), already in a concentration regime for the match. The novelty was the striker Carbonero , recovered from a muscle injury in his left thigh. The Colombian competes for position with Tabata, who returns after serving a suspension in the last meeting between the teams.
Another reinforcement is captain Alan Patrick , who was rested over the weekend for fitness reasons. The midfielder is considered a key player in organizing the attack and leading the team in its quest for qualification. In the first leg, played at Maracanã, Rubro-Negro won 1-0 , with a goal from Bruno Henrique, and now plays for a draw to advance to the quarterfinals.
In their last five matches in the continental competition, Flamengo has three wins and two draws. Internacional, meanwhile, has two wins, two losses, and one draw. The teams are coming off two consecutive head-to-head matches , one in the Libertadores and the other in the Brasileirão, and Internacional won both, 1-0 and 3-1, respectively.
