On the eve of a decisive three-game stretch against Flamengo , Internacional is facing market pressure for one of its key forwards. According to the 'GE' portal, the Portland Timbers (USA) submitted an $8 million offer (approximately R$44.6 million) for Wesley, a key player in coach Roger Machado's scheme. The offer, however, was promptly rejected by the Colorado board.
The reason for Internacional's refusal is the composition of the player's economic rights. The Rio Grande do Sul club holds only 50% of Wesley's transfer rights, with the other half belonging to Palmeiras.
