This weekend, Fluminense won its first Libertadores by beating Boca Juniors (ARG) 2-1, at Maracanã. With the historic victory, the team will compete in the Club World Cup at the end of this year, which is an incredible opportunity. However, even with all this new and encouraging information, the Tricolor players seem unable to get Flamengo out of their heads.
Felipe Melo, midfielder of the Laranjeiras club, made a point of needling and provoking Mais Querido after the end of the game, when he was interviewed about the next phases that the squad will have to face. Because of this, Felipe Melo made a point of remembering what happened and giving that jab : "Now, it's step by step. Obviously, we're not going to repeat the mistake of others of saying 'I don't know who, it can wait…', because we know it's going to be very difficult."
It's interesting to remember that The 2022 South American title was the third in the history of the Gávea club and in 1981 it won its first, and only, world championship. Meanwhile, Fluminense is having its debut.
The two teams meet this week, on Saturday (11), in a match valid for the 34th round of the Brazilian Championship. The game will be at Maracanã and is scheduled to start at 6:30 pm (Brasília time).

The traditional English magazine FourFourTwo once again put together the South American football ranking, choosing the 33 biggest teams on the continent. In the list, Argentine teams stand out with Boca Juniors and River Plate in first and second position, respectively. Flamengo closes the top 3 in the ranking.
The English publication highlighted Flamengo's history of never having been relegated in the Brazilian Championship, and recalled that it was at the Gávea club that Vini Jr. was born for football. Four other Brazilians appear in the top 10: Corinthians, São Paulo, Palmeiras and Santos.
