Portuguese coach surpassed the red and black team’s numbers in terms of success against Al-Hilal
|
Jorge Jesus continues to make history in football around the world. This time, the Portuguese coach, who had already led Al-Hilal to the world record for consecutive victories, won the Saudi Championship title. The team beat Al-Hazm, this Saturday, 4-1, and reached the 19th Saudi Pro League trophy, with three rounds to spare.
Al-Hilal's campaign, beyond the record of victories, is historic in terms of success. Today, on the day they won the Saudi title, Jorge Jesus' team's campaign has an incredible 95.70% success rate, with 89 points in 31 matches, 29 wins and two draws. For comparison purposes, Flamengo's historic campaign in 2019 was a 78.9% success rate.
Even if Al-Hilal does not score more points in the competition in the final three rounds, the team will continue to have a better performance compared to Flamengo in 2019. If it remains at 89 points, the success will be 87.25%.
Undefeated in the Saudi Championship, Al-Hilal will still play three matches in the competition. Jorge Jesus' team visits Al-Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo and Luís Castro's team, on May 17th, then hosts Al-Taee, on the 23rd, and ends the season against Al-Wehda, away from home.
Revealed at Fluminense, the 20-year-old striker was already on the red-black radar

A former Flamengo target in the primeira window of the year, is almost certainly a rival from Rio. This is because Botafogo overcame previous difficulties with Udinese and is still in the process of signing Matheus Martins, a 21-year-old striker. The operation will cost 10 million euros (R$ 60 million), with a further 2 million euros in bonuses, for 90% of the attacker's economic rights.
Only the athlete's signature separates the negotiation from being assured officially, but both parties already consider the operation as done.
Flamengo even negotiated with the striker, while he was on vacation in Rio de Janeiro. Some meetings took place, but there was no agreement with the Europeans. Another point was that at the time of the red-black attack, the player had the desire to continue in Europe.
So far, the rubro-negro< /a> has not signed any players since the start of the transfer window. The attempts with midfielder Marcos Antônio were unsuccessful and the Rio club ended up taking a beating from São Paulo, which signed the player. So far, the only name in which Flamengo is negotiating is with midfielder Claudinho, from Zenit, in Russia. Despite the Russians' tough game, everything is fine between the player and Flamengo.
The striker received his nickname due to his goal celebrations

Last Wednesday (24), striker Carlinhos secured three points for Flamengo over Vitória. Due to his way of celebrating, the player received the nickname "Bellingham da Gávea" from the red-black fans. Thus, the athlete commented on the joke.
"For me: Ronaldo, Romário and Adriano, I'm a big fan of them and I always try to imitate them. I know there's a lot missing. And I like the fans because they're creative: “it's Adriano Imperador's Avatar”, “Bellingham da Gávea”… That's cool. Here, for the guys, I'm the “thunder” because a partner of mine said: “Can I make a stop at your boot”? forget it", he said, in an interview with FlaTV.
CARLINHOS TALKS ABOUT THE REASON FOR THE CELEBRATIONIn addition to commenting on the fans' joke, Carlinhos also spoke about the meaning of the way he celebrates goals as a Flamengo player.
"I came from an evangelical family, and at home there were a lot of evangelical films. Even though my name is Carlos Moisés, I always liked the opposite side, which is Pharaoh Ramses . My mother would scold me, I would put my hand on my waist (laughs)", he said, before finishing:
"When I grew up, I always did this to her: “Mom, Ramses has arrived”. In this review I told my brothers that this was going to be the celebration. My posture was stupid, but it was more to provoke my mother. This position he takes is one of authority, a bit harshly, I identified with the celebration", he concluded.
FOCUS ON THE NEXT CONFRONTATIONSo, with Carlinhos at his disposal, Flamengo started preparation for the clash against Atlético-GO this Friday afternoon (26). The game will be on Sunday (28), valid for the 20th round of the Brasileirão, at 4pm.
The striker is a dream for the red-and-black nation

In an interview with the FIFA website, striker Neymar, from Al-Hilal, hinted that he does not plan on playing for Flamengo next season. The Brazilian star said that he hopes to defend the Arab club in the 2025 Club World Cup, a tournament in which Mengão is qualified. In other words, the rumor of Neymar at Gávea should not come true.
“It is an honor for me to play in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup defending Al-Hilal. The best clubs in the world and the best athletes will be there and, obviously, it is a place where Al-Hilal and my teammates deserve to be. The expectations for the competition are high and I'm sure I'll be ready to represent our fans”, said Neymar.
However, there is a problem for Neymar to compete in this competition for Al-Hilal: his contract ends at the end of June 2025. On the other hand, the competition is scheduled to take place between June 15th and July 13th, 2025. Therefore, to finish the World Cup playing for the Arabs, the striker will have to increase his contract.
“I always said that, right? Obviously Flamengo is my second favorite team. The first is Santos, with all due respect to the team that raised me, I've been a fan since I was little. But I have a great affection and it is obvious that it would be a great pleasure if one day I could play here. No one knows the future”, said the player to the official red-black channel.
In the match in which Flamengo beat Grêmio 2-1, Neymar was at Maracanã to watch the match. The invitation was made by Gabigol. After the final whistle, the star went to Tite's dressing room and spoke to athletes such as David Luiz, Everton Cebolinha and Bruno Henrique. All of these mentioned, Neymar has already played together in the Brazilian team.
