The Rio de Janeiro Court revoked, this Monday (2), the preventive detention of singer MC Poze do Rodo , allowing him to respond in freedom to the charges of defending crime and association with drug trafficking. The decision was made by judge Peterson Barroso Simão, who accepted the habeas corpus request presented by the artist's defense.
MC Poze , whose real name is Marlon Brandon Coelho Couto da Silva, was arrested last Thursday (29) during an operation by the Rio de Janeiro Civil Police. The arrest took place at his residence, located in Recreio dos Bandeirantes, West Zone of the capital of Rio de Janeiro. In the decision, the judge considered that the preventive detention was excessive and that the objectives of the investigation had already been achieved with the seizure of assets.
He also stressed that freedom of expression is a fundamental right and that Poze's artistic performance, although criticized, cannot be automatically confused with condoning crime. Despite the revocation of the arrest, the singer will have to comply with a series of precautionary measures during the investigation.
Among them, is the prohibition of leaving the state of Rio de Janeiro, changing address without prior notification to the courts and maintaining contact with other people under investigation in the process. He was also ordered to hand over his passport. In addition, MC Poze is prohibited from communicating with people linked to the criminal faction Comando Vermelho, according to the court decision.
The singer is being investigated for promoting the so-called “narcoculture,” glorifying crime and criminal factions in his songs and on social media. The defense argues that the arrest was based on videos and photos of MC Poze performing in communities, and lyrics that mention drug traffickers and depict armed men, claiming that they are “weak and subjective.”

Singer Milton Nascimento and record label Sony Music filed a lawsuit against Cruzeiro Esporte Clube, alleging the improper use of the song "Clube da Esquina nº 2". The work, written by Milton, Lô Borges and Márcio Borges , was allegedly used without authorization in a video posted on the club's social media in January 2025, during the announcement of Gabigol's signing from Flamengo.
According to information published by the newspaper O Globo, the video was produced and released by Cruzeiro without the proper authorization of the artists involved in the song's creation . Sony Music , which represents the copyright of the work, is seeking compensation for material damages, while Milton Nascimento and the Borges brothers are seeking compensation for moral damages.
The court order stipulates a sum of R$50,000 for each of the songwriters involved . Despite the good relationship between the artist and the Minas Gerais club in the recent past, the lawsuit remains ongoing due to the dispute between the parties.
In 2022, after announcing his retirement from the stage at the age of 80, Milton Nascimento was honored by Cruzeiro at a concert held at the Mineirão stadium in Belo Horizonte. On the occasion, the singer received a personalized jersey from the team and a letter describing him as " Cruzeiro's international ambassador ."
The lawsuit highlights the importance of respecting copyright when using musical works, especially in advertising materials and highly visible social media content . Despite the history of tributes, the composers claim that the lack of formal consent for the use of the song violates their rights and compromises the recognition of the intellectual property involved.

This is the best finish of Fonseca 's career, and he continues to break records. He became the 12th Brazilian in history to enter the top 50 since the beginning of the Open Era in 1968. Now, he also debuts among the ten highest-ranked Brazilian tennis players of all time, occupying 10th place , surpassing Cássio Motta, who was 48th in the world in 1986.
João Fonseca hasn't played since July 4th, when he was eliminated by Nicolás Jarry in the third round of Wimbledon. Now, he's preparing for his next match: the Toronto Masters 1000, which will take place from July 27th to August 7th . The tournament is the first major hard-court event of the North American season and serves as a tune-up for the US Open at the end of August.
This year's Toronto Masters will have significant absences. Names like Jannik Sinner , Carlos Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic, and Jack Draper have already announced they will not participate in the tournament, prioritizing rest after the intense sequence between Roland Garros and Wimbledon.

Oruam turned himself in to the police last Tuesday (22) after having an arrest warrant issued by the Court. Thus, this Wednesday (23), the rapper's fiancée, Fernanda Valença, spoke on her Instagram about the reaction of her father-in-law, Marcinho VP. The influencer highlighted that the singer's father "is not happy" with the indictment.
Oruam's bride talks about Marcinho VP's opinion: "Contrary to what many people think, my father-in-law is not happy about any of this news."
She continued: "He and my mother-in-law fought tirelessly throughout their lives for their children to change the family's destiny. However, this never stopped the constant psychological torments they faced over time ," she wrote in an excerpt.
Fernanda further reinforces MC Poze's idea by saying that the agents' intention was to "destabilize" Oruam: "At all costs, they persecute, threaten, make jokes and adopt an aggressive posture until they get what they want, which is to destabilize Mauro so that he reacts exactly the way they always criticize or point out ," she declared.
Hours before presenting himself to authorities, Oruam posted a video on social media: "I'm going to turn myself in, guys. I'm not a criminal, okay? I'm sorry to everyone I wronged, if you thought I was wrong. I'm going to bounce back and win through my music ."
The arrest warrant was issued by Judge Ane Cristine Scheele Santos. Oruam will be charged with drug trafficking, association with drug trafficking, resistance, contempt, damage, threats, and bodily harm.
