Willian Arão left Flamengo in 2022 and is now playing for Panathinaikos, in Greece. Last Monday (10), the midfielder spoke about his time at the Rio club and highlighted that he was the target of unfair criticism from many fans. The former Mengão player mentioned that in 2016 he was elected the best player in Brazil and also wore the Brazilian team's shirt.

— *Everyone says that the fans picked on the my foot, which Arão only played in 19. I joined the Brazilian team in 17, I was the best midfielder in Brazil in 16, but is that worthless? I went to the Brazilian team in 17, which were only Brazilians, and I was a starter* — said Willian Arão, in an interview with 'Charla Podcast' last Monday (10).

— *Or In other words, at that moment, I was the best player in Brazil, the best midfielder in Brazil at that time. Afterwards, maybe not... But everyone says that I only played after 19. I don't generalize, no. It's a part of the fans that has this, but anyway* — concluded the midfielder.

Willian Arão was signed by Flamengo in 2016, coming from Botafogo. He became one of coach Jorge Jesus' trusted players during the victorious 2019 season. With Mengão, the player won a total of 13 titles.

Among the 13 titles won, there are four Carioca Championships, one Florida Cup, two Brazilian Championships, two Brazilian Super Cups and one Brazilian Cup. In addition, Willian Arão was also champion of three continental tournaments, being champion of the Copa Libertadores twice and the Recopa Sul-Americana once.

On Saturday afternoon (28), Flamengo held its last training session before facing Athletico-PR in the Brasileirão. A clash that could decide the future of coach Tite at Mengão, was attended by all the players considered to be starters, despite the expectation of a mixed team for Sunday (29).

In content published on social media of Flamengo, names like Bruno Henrique and Alex Sandro, who were starters in the Libertadores elimination, last Thursday (26), appear alongside young fledglings, such as Matheus Gonçalves and Evertton, who have been widely used in the “reserve team ” by Tite.

Flamengo may have held the last training session under Tite's command.

With his destiny becoming more uncertain at Flamengo, Tite may having led his last training session as coach of Rubro-Negro. There are four games without a win, a bad result, or poorly presented football against Athletico-PR, could mean the end of the line for the coach, just under a year after his arrival.

In the semi-finals of Copa do Brasil, where they face Corinthians, and in the G4 of the Brasileirão, Rubro-Negro's objective is clear, to become CdB champion, and remain in the classification zone for the next Libertadores in the points championship.
