The 2023 season has come to an end for Flamengo, who are about to announce the contract renewal with Bruno Henrique. After a long period of injury in 2022, the striker returned to the pitch this year and stood out as one of the team's biggest 'reinforcements'. SERIOUS INJURY IN 2022

Bruno Henrique was injured in the game against Cuiabá, valid for the 12th round of the 2022 Brasileirão. At the time, the attacker was going to compete for the ball with the opposing defender, however, he stepped hard on the pitch and ended up overloading his support leg . As a result, the number 27 ruptured all the ligaments in his right knee and underwent two surgeries.

Due to the severity of the injury, Bruno Henrique spent around ten months on the sidelines. The number 27's return took place in April 2023, when Flamengo beat Coritiba 3-0, in the first round of the Brasileirão.

BRUNO HENRIQUE SCORES AGAIN

First of all, Bruno Henrique's first goal after returning to the field took five games. At the packed Maracanã, shirt number 27 was applauded by the Flamengo fans when he entered the field and it didn't take long for him to find the net for Grêmio, on June 11, in the tenth round of the Brasileirão. NUMBERS FOR FLAMENGO

Since returning from injury, Bruno Henrique has played in 38 games for Flamengo. Furthermore, the number 27 scored seven goals and provided two assists, meaning he was involved in nine goals. The striker closed the 2023 season with 2,176 minutes wearing the Sacred Mantle.

It is worth remembering that Bruno Henrique ended up losing space at Flamengo since Tite's arrival. This is because the striker was absent from the team due to an expulsion and was replaced by Everton Cebolinha, who gained the coach's trust. With this, the number 11 took over the starting role in the red and black attack.

RENEWAL WITH FLAMENGO

Despite the drop in performance at the end of the season, Bruno Henrique renewed his contract with Flamengo. The player's contract with the club was valid until December 2023. However, the parties signed for another three years.
