Many Flamengo fans showed their frustration on social media this Sunday night (24). The team lost the Copa do Brasil title after drawing with São Paulo, at Morumbi. The goal difference of the two games was 2-1 for Tricolor Paulista and the flamenguistas' great irritation regarding the result was with some players, with the coach, but mainly with the board.
The red-black funk player MC Maneirinho was one of the thousands of fans who decided to use Twitter (new 'X') to complain about the club's representatives. Flamengo fan at heart, he wrote as soon as the game ended: "A BUNCH OF TITLES THROWN IN THE TRASH BECAUSE OF THESE ****'S EGO (...)".
There were a lot of insults used by the singer, who he was making reference to the other five championships that Flamengo lost in this 2023 season, even before being defeated by São Paulo. This year alone, the team competed and lost in the SuperCopa, Recopa, Campeonato Carioca, Club World Cup, Libertadores and, now, the Copa do Brasil.
Maneirinho continued asking the directors to leave Rio de Janeiro, where Mais Querido is based, speaking to fans throughout Brazil that "Flamengo hates you." A few minutes later he made a second post saying that "*****'s board" took "7 titles out of our hands in the most cowardly way". The funk player was also talking about the Brasileirão, in which Mengão is not doing so well and occupies seventh place on the leaderboard.
He, however, did not fail to congratulate Dorival Júnior, coach of São Paulo, who went on to win the same championship with Flamengo last season, in 2022. Dorival was fired from the rubro-negro in November last year, even after winning the Libertadores and the Copa do Brasil with the team.
