In the return match of the semifinal of the Under-20 Women's Brasileirão, the Meninas da Gávea beat Internacional 2-0 this Wednesday afternoon (6), at the Vale stadium, and qualified for the final of the competition. Pimenta and Duda Rodrigues scored for Mengão, who will face Botafogo in the decision.

The game

The match started off quite studiously with the teams trying to gain possession of the ball. The opening minutes were win-lose in the midfield sector. Little by little, Meninas da Gávea managed to control the ball more and advanced to the attack. Until at 15', Mengão opened the scoring! Mariana made a good move on the right of the area and crossed the ball. The goalkeeper threw the ball to the side and Pimenta only completed it into the net: 1 to 0.

Flamengo increased the score in the 26th minute. Mariana made a great play in the middle and gave a precise shot for Duda Rodrigues to hit the goalkeeper to score the second red-black goal: 2-0. The first half ended with a good advantage for Mengão. This score gives the classification for the Gávea team, as the first game ended in a 1-1 draw, in the Luso-Brasileiro.

On the way back After the break, the game continued with a lot of competition in midfield. At seven minutes, Internacional had a penalty in their favor. Analuyza took the penalty and Isa Cruz shone when he saved the penalty.

During of the match, the Colorados continued to attack, pressing in search of the first goal. In the final stretch, Meninas da Gávea managed to manage the Colorado pressure and left the field qualifying for the final, where they will face Botafogo.

With the opening of the transfer window this Thursday (10), Flamengo is moving both in the main squad and in the base. One of the names that entered the market radar was the Nigerian striker Shola, a highlight of the red-black under-20. Volta Redonda, second-to-last in Series B, sent a loan proposal for the player, but Mais Querido refused .

Despite recognizing that experience on a professional team could be valuable, the board opted to keep the striker. The main reason is the U-20 Club World Cup , in which Flamengo will face Barcelona (ESP) on August 23rd at the Maracanã. Information about Volta Redonda's interest was reported by 'BTS Sports'.

SHOLA HAS A VICTORIOUS HISTORY AND HAS ALREADY PLAYED FOR THE PROFESSIONAL LEAGUE

With a distinguished record in the youth ranks—including a World Cup title and two U-20 Libertadores titles—Shola has five appearances for Flamengo 's senior team. Four of these were in 2025, during the Campeonato Carioca , when the team used an alternative formation. His debut came in the 2024 Brasileirão, against Atlético-MG.

If loaned out, Shola would arrive at Volta Redonda with the mission of helping the team escape the relegation zone in Série B. The team has just 14 points in 15 rounds — three wins, five draws, and seven losses — and sits in 19th place, ahead only of Amazonas on goal difference.

SHOLA'S NEXT GAME WILL BE IN THE U-20S

With the loan ruled out, at least for now, Shola remains available for the under-20 team. He is expected to start this Thursday (10), at 6 pm (Brasília time), against Botafogo, in the Luso-Brasileiro, in a game valid for the penultimate round of the Brasileirão in the category . The match also marks the debut of coach Bruno Pivetti. Flamengo will have reinforcements from the professional squad: Matheus Gonçalves, Lorran, João Victor, Léo Nannetti and Joshua.

Being a champion is good. At the opponent's home ground, after seven years, it's even better! Flamengo beat Fluminense 3-2 on penalties and became the Rio de Janeiro champion in the under-15 category , at the Marcelo Vieira Stadium, in Xerém. After winning 3-2 at Gávea, Rubro-Negro was defeated 2-1 by Tricolor, this Sunday (6), resulting in a tie on aggregate. José Eduardo scored the decisive penalty and started the party.

SUMMARY

Needing to win, Fluminense started the match trying to occupy the attacking field and had a chance with a free kick early on. The ball went to the right of goalkeeper Alessandro. The opponent had more volume, but most of the plays were balls thrown into the area. A free kick from the left hit the crossbar in the 19th minute.

Shortly after, at 22 minutes, Tricolor ended up scoring the first goal, precisely from a rebound after a cross from the left, taken advantage of by Crystian Gabriel. The red-and-black team, which had difficulty imposing its game, improved after conceding the goal and started to create a few more chances. It was Fluminense, however, that came very close to extending the lead shortly before the end of the first half. The defense was unable to clear the ball and Alessandro saved a point-blank shot from the opposing striker.

Early in the second half, Fla made a good play with Leonardo Gabriel, who came down the right, crossed and the defense cleared. On the counterattack, penalty for Fluminense, who scored the second in the 2nd minute, with Ryan Santos. Guilherme missed a great opportunity to reduce the deficit with a header, right after.

The opponent continued to play better and could have increased the lead in the 6th minute. Two minutes later, Rubro-Negro finally scored the first goal. Samuel Julio headed the ball accurately after a corner kick by Thomas Robson. Fluminense had another dangerous attack in the 17th minute, while Fla's response came in the 19th minute, with a shot over the top by José Eduardo.

Most of the plays were concentrated in the midfield . The red-blacks were unable to complete their attacks and Fluminense even managed to score twice, but goalkeeper Alessandro made the save with ease. As Fla had won the first game 3-2, the 2-1 defeat took the title decision to penalties.
