Not even the altitude of 2,600 meters from Bogotá will be able to reduce Flamengo's offensive posture against Millonarios, this Tuesday (2), at 7pm, for the debut of the Libertadores. At least that's what assistant coach Matheus Bachi guarantees, who guaranteed the team's objective to maintain a high level of intensity and try to suffocate the Colombian team away from home.
“Aggressiveness, high pressure, intensity always, that's the way we play . We try to suffocate the opponent and when we have the ball we try to value it. Value possession so as not to just run after and always look for the goal”, said the son of coach Tite and assistant at Flamengo, in an interview with Fla TV.
Matheus understands that the Flamengo squad is completely aligned with the ideas of the coaching staff, which results in a great start to the season. He showed a lot of excitement and celebrated the cast's acceptance of the work proposed by the technical committee.
“It's great to see an idea that we've been building since the end of last year. We spent the off-season, since the holidays, studying and preparing a lot to see what we were going to do. Not different, but the new ideas that we would bring to lend to the team. We managed to put together something really cool, with clear ideas for the athletes, who bought the idea”, continued Matheus Bachi, before completing:
“And this is a reflection of all the work we he had. Both during the holidays and in the pre-season, which we had a lot of success with. In the sequence of games we make adjustments and it is extremely gratifying for us.”
Flamengo arrives for their debut in the Libertadores against Millonarios undefeated this season and with a defense without being leaked. There are 10 wins and two draws this season, with 27 goals scored and none conceded. In other words, an average of 2.25 goals per match.
