Flamengo was one of the most impressive Brazilian teams during its FIFA Club World Cup campaign. Mengão finished first in the group stage, tied with Chelsea, who went on to reach the finals. Despite this, Filipe Luís doesn't believe that the participation of Brazilian teams in the competition will revolutionize team performance .
Flamengo's Filipe Luís on the influence of the Club World Cup in Brazil: "I don't think it will change that much"
"I don't think it will change that much, especially since the players are the same, the coaches are the same. We're returning to a reality where we have a style of football adapted to travel, to different pitches, to weather conditions , to demanding fans, and a style of football completely different from that of Europe. This allows us to compete with them in South American football. But what I said doesn't change; I think the best players went there, are there, they put together squads for each of these elite teams, and it was a great experience for us to see ourselves on the field," declared the Flamengo coach.
WORLDWIDE HELPS TO OBSERVE THE DIFFERENCES
Filipe Luís once again highlighted the difference between the elite European teams and Brazilian football, asserting that the Club World Cup was useful in understanding the difference between the performances of the major European clubs compared to what is seen in the local championship, in addition to lamenting the early exit from the competition.
"Seeing how we're doing, both tactically and technically, with everyone. It was good to see various situations, exchanges with coaches, for example. I had the opportunity to talk to the coaches. Going to their locker room, we were there exchanging game plans, I found it super interesting. And also to analyze the press, the foreign press, not just the Brazilian press, the foreign press as well. So it was really cool, it was a shame to be eliminated in the round of 16. I think we could have gone a little further ," concluded the coach.
NEXT APPOINTMENT
Flamengo now focuses its efforts on the 14th round of the Brazilian Championship. Leader of the competition with 27 points, Mengão goes to Vila Belmiro next Wednesday (16) at 8 pm (Brasília time), where it will have a duel against Santos, with star Neymar, in the Brasileirão.
With the arrival of players to fill the Mengão squad, players may lose space and the club may work to negotiate them

Flamengo has been one of the protagonists of the current transfer window , with major reinforcements arriving to strengthen the squad. However, the intense movement could result in a restructuring of the group and the departure of some players. According to journalist Renato Maurício Prado, Everton Cebolinha and Michael are among the players the club is considering negotiating .
On his YouTube channel, Renato revealed a conversation with a source linked to the red-black board, who confirmed the intention to reduce the squad , now inflated by the return of injured athletes and new signings.
Renato Maurício Prado on negotiating Cebolinha and Michael: "Flamengo wants to do this"
"Players who were injured are returning. Flamengo will be left with two and a half teams. That's a lot of people to manage. I told the source that the club may part with players like Michael and Cebolinha ."
According to Renato, the board's desire is to find new destinations for both forwards, but the task has been difficult: "The source told me: ' Flamengo wants to do this, but it's not easy because there are no concrete offers .' Since they have already played in more than seven Brasileirão games, they cannot play for another club in the competition this year. Therefore, the exit would have to be abroad."
After losing Gerson and Wesley, Rubro-Negro acted quickly and brought in four reinforcements : Samuel Lino, Saúl Ñíguez, Emerson Royal and announced on Saturday (2) the arrival of Carrascal. In addition to them, Jorginho was hired with a focus on the Club World Cup.
With a strengthened squad, Flamengo is preparing for the most decisive stretch of the season. Leading the Brazilian Championship, the club faces two knockout challenges: overturning its deficit against Atlético-MG in the Copa do Brasil and facing Internacional in the round of 16 of the Copa Libertadores.
