Filipe Luís gave an interview upon arrival at Hard Rock Stadium for Flamengo vs Bayern Munich, which starts at 5pm (Brasília time) , for the round of 16 of the Club World Cup. The coach praised the team's preparation during the week, showed confidence and justified the changes in the starting lineup.
Filipe Luís on Bayern: "An opponent of the highest level, we feel privileged to have a duel of this size."
The coach chose to field Alex Sandro as the starting left-back, with Ayrton Lucas being the choice against Espérance and Chelsea. Another change in relation to the team that beat the English team is the return of Léo Ortiz in place of Danilo. Finally, Bruno Henrique was expected to replace Arrascaeta, but Filipe says that the choices are based on the plan for the beginning of the game and also for the second half, as was the case in the victory over Chelsea.
"We chose what we think fits best for the game plan. They are all key players and are in great form. We think they are the best for the game plan and also for the second half when needed," he said.
Filipe Luís praised Bayern Munich and celebrated the chance to face the Germans, without failing to highlight his confidence that Flamengo will be able to show its qualities.
"Very calm, everything prepared. We had a great week of training, very good days to recover energy and prepare for the game. Opponent of the highest level, we feel privileged to have a duel of this size. We know we will have the chance to show our football."

An idol among Flamengo fans for his historic work between 2019 and 2020, Jorge Jesus still dreams of returning to manage Flamengo . This information was revealed by Kleber Leite, the club's former president and a personal friend of the coach. According to him, the coach would accept an offer to return to the club.
In an interview with Canal Mundo GV, hosted by former goalkeeper Getúlio Vargas, Kleber revealed that Jorge Jesus was very close to re-signing Flamengo in 2021, following Renato Gaúcho's departure. At the time, Flamengo's board traveled to Portugal to negotiate directly with the coach . A meeting was even held, but after asking for time to decide, Jesus decided to sign Paulo Sousa.
"He could have been at Flamengo a long time ago. (...) You know that story about you running to avoid getting there? Flamengo ran to avoid getting there. They didn't want to, actually, that's it. (...) I have no doubt that Jesus would accept an offer from Flamengo . Here or even with the Brazilian national team, where they also lost their chance. He was the coach at the time," declared Kleber Leite.
Jorge Jesus achieved impressive numbers with Flamengo. In 58 games, the Mais Querido under his command achieved 44 wins, 10 draws and only four losses, an 81.6% success rate . Under his command, the Rubro-Negro won the following titles: Libertadores (2019), Brazilian Championship (2019), Brazilian Super Cup (2020), Recopa Sudamericana (2020) and Campeonato Carioca (2020).

After resting some players in the victory over Corinthians, coach Filipe Luís opted for a full-strength squad . Ayrton Lucas returns from suspension, while Matías Viña and Léo Pereira, cleared by the medical department, are available.
