Flamengo arrived in Rio de Janeiro, on the morning of this Monday (18), with an unprecedented title in their luggage: Libertadores sub-20. The Boys from the Nest beat Boca Juniors 2-1 on Sunday. The team was undefeated champion and won the five games of the competition.
The vice-president of the base, Vitor Zanelli, celebrated the achievement and detailed the constant work with the Under-20s, mainly by the players who are loaned for the professional. The director recalled that goalkeeper Dyogo Alves, midfielder Victor Hugo and striker Matheus Gonçalves are integrated into the professional ranks, but would be old enough to compete in the U20 Libertadores.
"It's indescribable to reach the peak, right? top of America. We managed to win the top competition in South America. Now we start to want it again, we want one more. And then comes the World Cup. Flamengo has been doing work, a process of preparing the impeccable players, of the highest level, both for the athletes and for the results, for sales. These are processes, and the under-20 team is constantly reassembled, because of this. Players who go to the professional ranks, who are sold, and we need to reassemble the team and still manage to achieve everything ", he commented before continuing:
"The team that won the Brazilian Championship last year, four months ago, ten are not here (in this Libertadores champion team). We have players who are still under-20 and are already professional, they could be competing in the Libertadores. We will still have a transfer window in the middle of the year, and the World Cup will probably be after that window. So we have a constant reformulation. But we are aware of this, we know that it is natural for Flamengo. We do a lot of hard work in this preparation, capture", he concluded.
Flamengo beat Boca Juniors on Sunday afternoon (17) and won the unprecedented Libertadores under-20 title. Now, champion of In the South American competition, Mais Querido will also have the chance to be World Champion in the category. Therefore, Rubro Negro must face the European champion in a unique game in Brazil.
Thus, Flamengo can face European champion at Maracanã or another stadium chosen by Mais Querido's board of directors. Four teams remain in contention for this season's European title. One semi-final pits Porto (POR) and Milan (ITA). The other is between Nantes (FRA) and Olympiacos (GRE). The matches take place in April.

On an afternoon of total superiority, Flamengo under-20 beat Sampaio Corrêa 4-0 this Saturday (27), in a game valid for the ninth round of the Taça Guanabara, held at CT da Saferj, in Guaratiba (RJ). Without the players who will go to the Under-20 World Cup , the great highlight was striker Douglas, author of two goals. Germano and Guilherme also scored for Rubro-Negro.
The team was on the attack from the opening minutes and quickly opened up a lead . In the 16th minute, Douglas capitalized on a precise pass from Daniel Sales to open the scoring. Shortly thereafter, in the 32nd minute, Germano doubled the lead, again after an assist from Daniel. Still in the first half, in the 37th minute, Guilherme scored with a perfect free kick, turning the victory into a partial rout.
In the second half, Flamengo maintained the pace and after just 5 minutes, they set the score. Douglas received the ball from Pablo and scored his second goal, making it 4-0 . With the result, Rubro-Negro is preparing to face Madureira, next Saturday (4), at 10 am, at Aniceto Moscoso Stadium, for the continuation of the Guanabara Cup.
Saturday was also busy for other Flamengo youth teams. In the Copa Rio U-15, Flamengo drew 1-1 with Fluminense in Xerém . Marcos Pierre scored the red-and-black goal early in the second half.
In the U-16, in the Guilherme Embry Tournament, Flamengo beat Sampaio Corrêa 2-0 , in Saquarema. Anthony and Wallace secured the victory in the second stage. Mengão's U-20 returns to the field on Saturday (4), when the Garotos do Ninho face Madureira, still in the Cariocão of the category.
The 19-year-old player, who scored the goal that won Mengão's U-20 World Cup title in 2024, leaves the club after losing his place and the board's dissatisfaction with his stance.

Flamengo confirmed, this Monday, the termination of the contract of striker Felipe Teresa , 19 years old, who had a contract with the club until July 2026. The player was known for having been the author of the goal that guaranteed Rubro-Negro the title of the U-20 World Cup in 2024 , when the team was commanded by Filipe Luís.
According to information initially released by the Flazoeiro profile, the decision to terminate the contract came from Flamengo itself, motivated by dissatisfaction with the athlete's behavior in training and matches. The incident occurs amid a restructuring of the club's youth squad, which has seen several players leave in recent months.
In 2024, Felipe Teresa played 25 games and scored five goals for the U-20 team. He even came on in the second half of the red-and-black team's penalty shootout victory over Barcelona at the Maracanã , but in the final matches he was only on the bench. Despite being more experienced, the striker lost out to younger players.
Last year, Teresa received an opportunity in the professional team during the Brazilian Championship , in the match against Grêmio , when she came on at the end of the game and scored a goal.
He subsequently played only for the alternate team in the Campeonato Carioca and was never called up to the main squad again. The striker joined Flamengo in 2022, at the age of 15 , after excelling in the Campeonato Paulista with Inter de Limeira.

Flamengo confirmed the strength of the home factor and defeated Boavista 1-0, this Saturday (20), in the eighth round of the Campeonato Carioca Sub-20. The winning goal came only in the 35th minute of the second half, in a beautiful shot by Ryan Roberto , who came off the bench to decide.
With the result, Rubro-Negro reached 16 points, taking third place in the table, with a record of five wins, one draw, and two losses . The competition leader is Vasco, with 21 points so far.
Flamengo dominated possession and controlled the game from the start, but struggled to create clear-cut chances. Ryan Roberto's introduction early in the second half changed the landscape . The forward became the team's main offensive weapon and, from outside the box, hit a beautiful shot to secure the victory.
Coach Bruno Pivetti will have important absences in the next games. Defenders João Victor and Iago were called up by Ramon Menezes for the U-20 World Cup , which takes place in Chile, between September 27 and October 19. Both will be presented next Monday (22), at Granja Comary, in Teresópolis.
