Flamengo fans are eagerly awaiting Pedro's return to the starting lineup . After seven months out due to a left knee injury , the number 9 returned to action last Wednesday (10), against Central Córdoba , for the Libertadores, when he came on in the final minutes. Last Sunday (13), against Grêmio, he remained on the bench due to a technical decision by Filipe Luís .
Fully recovered, Pedro is in the process of reconditioning his physical condition and will have his minutes controlled in the upcoming matches. INJURY AND RECOVERY
Pedro ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during training with the Brazilian national team on September 4, 2024. He underwent surgery that same month and began the recovery process at Ninho do Urubu in October. It took six months and 27 days until he returned to the field .
Before the injury, the number 9 was having a great season: in 43 games , he scored 30 goals and provided 8 assists . Flamengo considers his return to be the main reinforcement of the year , especially given the difficulty the team has had in finishing in 2025.
FILIPE LUÍS EXPLAINS OPTION IN THE LAST GAME
After the 2-0 victory over Grêmio, Filipe Luís commented on the decision not to use Pedro, even with the center forward on the bench:
“Of course he is not available to start yet. In the second half, I believed we had space to counterattack and we could no longer put pressure on Grêmio, it was time to attack the space. I opted for Juninho . But Pedro is, yes, available to have minutes in the coming games,” explained the coach.

According to journalist Venê Casagrande, Pisa, recently promoted to the Italian football elite, made a loan offer for the player, but the terms of the negotiation did not please the red-black board, which chose to reject the proposal.
With the decision, the club kept Lorran in the under-20 squad , where he competes in the Brazilian Championship in the category. Flamengo has taken an important step towards finalizing the permanent transfer of midfielder Victor Hugo, 21 , to Famalicão, in Portugal. The Portuguese club has presented a purchase proposal that was considered satisfactory by the red-black board, which has already authorized the player's representatives to define the contract terms with the Europeans.
The expectation is that the contract with Famalicão will be valid for three seasons . The values involved in the negotiation were not revealed. The information was released by journalist Venê Casagrande.
NO SPACE IN THE CAST
Victor Hugo recently returned to the club after a loan spell at Goztepe in Turkey. The contract with the Turkish club included a buyout clause set at 8 million euros (approximately R$51 million) , but the European team chose not to exercise the option. Without a place in the squad led by Filipe Luís, the player is not part of the plans for the rest of the season.
Initially, Famalicão discussed the possibility of a new loan , but the talks evolved into a permanent transfer, considered the most advantageous solution by Flamengo 's football department.
