Lucas Paquetá and Vinícius Júnior are the two great jewels of Flamengo of recent times. Vini became a big star, defending Real Madrid, and Lucas Paquetá is on the rise at West Ham, even attracting attention from Manchester City. Outside the Brazilian team, the duo only played side by side with Manto Sagrado. The player states that he does have the dream of returning to play alongside Vinícius Júnior for the club, highlighting the differences for the Seleção.

“Absolutely. In addition to the friendship we have, there is also a very good partnership on the field. And we try to take this to the national team every time we are together. But in a club it's different. You are there every day”, explains Lucas Paquetá, who also joked: “We talk every day, we play video games”.

Vinícius Júnior and Lucas Paquetá have been frequent figures in the Brazilian team. At the beginning of Dorival Jr's work, they return to play together with Canarinho, and the ex-Flamengo coach's work begins with an important victory. With a goal from Endrick, Brazil beat England 1-0 at Wembley.

Lucas Paquetá treated injury at Vinícius Júnior's house

Friendship and proximity to Vinícius Júnior and Lucas Paquetá is so great that the midfielder spent time at the winger's house, in Madrid, Spain. Paquetá recently suffered an injury, and says he has the same physiotherapist as Vini. Therefore, he preferred to stay in Spain to make life easier for the professional who takes care of both players.

“I stayed at Vini's house. He is my brother. Since he was 16 we have had this very strong friendship. The physiotherapist who works with me also works with him, so I preferred to go there for more intense treatment”, he says.

FAILURE IN THE FINAL MINUTES

Alex Sandro, one of Mengão's new reinforcements, lamented the team's relaxation at the end of the game, which culminated in Vasco's equalizer in the 42nd minute of the second half . “It was a pleasure to play in a packed Maracanã and play in a classic. However, we relax in the end, that is the truth. We should have kept possession more and been better organized. Football only ends when the referee blows the whistle. Let's learn from this and avoid the same mistakes in the next games", commented the full-back in the mixed area of the stadium.

DOMINIUM AND LOST CHANCESEven with some important absences, Tite's team managed to dominate the actions throughout the match. Mengão finished 17 times and hit the post on two occasions. Flamengo drew 1-1 with Vasco, this Sunday (15), at Maracanã, in a match valid for the 26th round of the Brazilian Championship. Despite the good performance on the field, coach Tite made his frustration with the result clear in a press conference after the classic. Rubro-Negro took the lead with a goal from Gerson, but conceded a draw in the final minutes, with Philippe Coutinho finding the net.

Tite took more than 1h20 to give an interview after the game, a time that, according to it was necessary to assimilate the discrepancy between performance and result. "It took me a while to assimilate the team's performance, which was very good, but without the result we wanted. Sometimes, football doesn't follow the logic of the game, and that's difficult to accept," said the coach. p>

Mengão had control of the game and created good chances, but saw their opponent take advantage of one of the few opportunities they had, which ended up generating frustration for both the coach and the fans.

COMPANY ABOUT ARBITRATION

During the interview, Tite was asked about the move that led to Vasco's equalizing goal. He criticized Raphael Claus' refereeing and stated that the play started with an unmarked foul on Léo Pereira. "For me, it was a foul on Léo Pereira outside the area. A clear imbalance behind his back. I've seen situations like this with Claus before, and his criteria confuse me", said the coach, expressing dissatisfaction.

However, the coach made a point of highlighting that responsibility for the result is collective, involving both the players and the coaching staff. He also commented on the presence of the defenders in the opponent's area during the play: "The defenders went into the area to try to finish. We had the chance to finish, but we made a mistake together. Vasco was effective in one of the few chances they had."< /p>

TABLE SITUATION

With the draw, CRF reaches 45 points and remains in fourth place in the Brasileirão , remaining in G4. Rafael Paiva's team, in turn, accumulates 35 points. The Mengão team continues its search for better results in the next rounds to remain firm in the fight for the title.

Brazil ended its participation in the Paris Paralympics this Sunday (8) with its best campaign in the history of the competition. According to the objective established by the Brazilian Paralympic Committee, the Brazilian delegation in Paris broke the record for medals in a single edition of the Games, with 89, achieved the highest number of golds, 25, and secured the unprecedented top 5 in the medals table.

It was not easy to secure fifth place. After spending the first few days among the five best countries at the Paralympics, Brazil came to occupy eighth place in the medals quarter at the end of Thursday (5), four days before the end of the Games. But from Friday (6) recovery came. With four gold medals won, Brazil reached seventh place and came up against France and Italy, which would become the great opponent for fifth place.

Medal after medal, Brazil and Italy fought for the top 5 in the table of medals. On Saturday (7), Brazilian athletes secured the country's best day in the history of the Paralympics with six golds, three silvers and seven bronzes, and sixth place in the classification. With such a performance, Brazil surpassed the 72 podiums and 22 gold medals from Tokyo 2022, achieving its best campaign in both categories.

However, it still lacked a position in the top five. The Italians had 24 gold medals, one more gold medal than Brazil, and slept in fifth place. That would change this Sunday morning (8).

In the first events of the last day of the race, Brazil won two more gold medals and overtook Italy. First, Fernando Rufino was champion in canoeing, winning gold in the 200m VL2 and leaving the countries tied. The race also had another Brazilian on the podium. Igor Tofalini finished in second place and took silver. Then, in the event that would bring the top 5 to Brazil, Tayana Medeiros broke the Paralympic record by lifting 156kg in the 86kg category and took gold.

Italy did not win any competition and no longer competes in competitions. Thus, Brazil guaranteed its best campaign in the history of the Paralympics. The great Brazilian highlights, as usual, were athletics, which reached its 200th medals won, and swimming, with 36 for the first and 26 for the second discipline.
