Between April 21st and 26th, the Fadel Fadel Aquatic Park, located at Flamengo 's headquarters, will host the Maria Lenk Championship, the most important competition in Brazilian swimming. The tournament plays a strategic role in the sports calendar, as it serves as an official qualifier for international events such as the World Championship, the Pan-American Championship, the Junior World Championship, the Pan-Junior Championship and South American championships.
It's the biggest Brazilian Championship..."
Stephan Steverink, a promising new generation athlete from Mais Querido, highlighted the importance of the event. According to him, Maria Lenk is the main national showcase for achieving global goals. “The importance of the Maria Lenk Championship is that it is the biggest Brazilian Championship we have in the year . It is usually the competition where we can qualify for international championships,” he commented.
In addition to the prestige of the competition, the competition offers a different advantage to the red-and-black swimmers: the home advantage. For athletes like Stephan, competing in a familiar environment can be an advantage. “ I personally think that competing at home is great, because I know the pool like the back of my hand. This is where my team and my club are. You have more visibility, it’s at your home, so there are even more fans,” he emphasized.
The club's swimmers' preparation included a period of training and competitions in the United States, which is known for offering top-level facilities and athletes among the best in the world. "This preparation was great because we not only swam with the best in the world, but also with the best facilities. This serves as motivation and preparation for bigger things," added Stephan.
With free entry for the public, the tournament promises exciting matches and a high level of technical expertise. Flamengo , the competition's protagonist at its headquarters in Gávea, seeks to maintain its national prominence and promote its talents towards the season's major international competitions.
After three seasons defending the Mantle, the players end the cycle with a tribute from the fans and structural departures from the group

The changes in the group led by Bernardinho began a few days ago, with the announcement that the contract of American Brie was ending, and gained momentum with the confirmation of the departures of important athletes . Michelle, one of the names most identified with the project, leaves the club after three consecutive seasons , with a leadership role and a strong connection with the fans . At 38 years old, the outside hitter already has a certain destiny: she will defend Praia Clube in the 2025 season.
With a winning history, Michelle wore the Sacred Mantle between 2022 and 2025, a period in which she acted as captain and won two Campeonato Carioca titles. However, her history with Bernardinho's project is even longer: between 2004 and 2010, the player went through two other phases, being a two-time Superliga champion.
Chosen by Bernardinho to lead the group on and off the court, Michelle became a symbol of the union between youth and experience. In recognition, the fans organized a banner with the athlete's face, a gesture that moved the number 17 player: “Sesc RJ Flamengo thanks you for all your dedication and dedication to the team in the 24/25 season. Good luck in your new journeys. Thank you!”
Another player who is ending the cycle is setter Rose, who had been on the team for two seasons. Brie's reserve in the first half and taking on a leading role in decisive moments, the player has signed with Batavo Mackenzie. Opposite Edinara, who arrived for the 2024/25 season, will also join the Minas Gerais team. She says goodbye to Rubro-Negro after a year of contribution and will continue in the new project alongside Rose.
In an open letter published this Friday, Michelle gave a long thank you to the club, the fans and coach Bernardinho. In the text, the outside hitter recounted the personal impact of her time at Flamengo : “Today, 5/30, I end a cycle of 3 incredible years, which were, without a doubt, the best seasons of my career. I came in as a different person and I leave completely different.”
The director of Mais Querido is also in the sights of other teams in the Brasileirão, but has not yet received any proposal to leave Rubro-Negro

In an attempt to overhaul its football department, Santos is still looking for new directors to avoid relegation to Série B. As such, the São Paulo team is working behind the scenes to appoint a new football director, and one of the names mentioned is Bruno Spindel, current director of Flamengo.
According to information from journalist Ana Canhedo, in addition to Bruno Spindel, Santos also has Marcos Braz and Fabinho Soldado, former Flamengo directors, on the list. In addition, Alexandre Mattos, current football director at Cruzeiro, is also a target for the São Paulo team.
It is worth remembering that another club from the Brazilian Serie A recently showed interest in Bruno Spindel: Atlético-MG. However, negotiations did not progress at the beginning of the year, after the election of Luiz Eduardo Baptista, and the director continues to work at Mais Querido.
Spindel joined Flamengo in 2015 to be the club's marketing director and remained in the role until 2018. Soon after, he was promoted to become the team's CEO. Finally, Bruno became executive director in June 2019 and remains in the role to this day.
While Bruno Spindel continues to receive inquiries, Flamengo's squad focuses its attention on the next matches of the season. The Mais Querido returns to the field on Sunday (1), in a match against Fortaleza, at 6:30 pm, at Maraca. The match will be valid for the 11th round of the Brasileirão and could be worth the leadership of the competition.

In total, there are 64 teams competing for the title of the Women's Copa do Brasil. The competition will be divided into seven stages, all in knockout, single-game format, with a spot decided on penalties in the event of a draw in regular time.
Remembering that before the first stage, the Copa do Brasil had a preliminary phase, which was played between Juventude-SE and Paraíso-TO . The Sergipe team won 4-3, on penalties, after a goalless draw in regular time, and will face Tarumã-AM in the first phase.
