The Flamengo confirmed this Sunday (12) the signing of Juninho, striker from Qarabag (AZE), marking the first acquisition of the management led by Bap. The player, who chose to refuse an offer from Sevilla (ESP), is expected to arrive in Rio de Janeiro this Monday (13), at 4pm (Brasília time), to sign a contract with the club .
DECISION BY FLAMENGO
One of the decisive factors in choosing Juninho for Flamengo was the greatest possibility of winning important titles compared to what he would have at Sevilla. According to journalist Venê Casagrande, the attacker used this argument in conversations with his manager to justify his choice for Mais Querido.
In addition, Juninho believes that Flamengo provides greater visibility on the world football scene, if he stands out wearing the Sacred Mantle. The prospect of professional growth weighed on the decision to refuse the proposalfrom the Spanish club and accept the red-black offer.
ARRIVAL AT FLAMENGO
Upon landing in Rio de Janeiro, Juninho will undergo medical examinations before signing a contract with Flamengo until the end 2028. NEGOTIATION VALUES
Flamengo needed to overcome competition from Sevilla to complete the signing. The first red and black proposal was rejected, but, after an increase in the offer, Qarabag accepted the negotiation.
Flamengo agreed to buy Juninho for €5 million (approximately R$ 31 .2 million), with payment being made in installments.
