Flamengo published this Monday (31) its annual report with the audited financial statements for the 2024 fiscal year, as provided for in the club's Statute. The 80-page document details the Rubro-Negro's revenues, expenses and asset evolution.

Flamengo's debt and impact of the land for the stadium

The balance sheet reveals that Flamengo's net operating debt had a significant reduction from R$217 million in 2022 to R$48 million at the end of 2023. However, with the investment in the purchase of the Gasômetro land, aiming at the construction of its own stadium, and in players in mid-2024, the value rose to R$327 million .

On the other hand, the club's revenue remains above the R$1.2 billion mark, but showed a slight drop compared to the previous year. In 2022, revenue was R$1.290 billion . In 2023, even without winning any titles, it reached a record of R$1.440 billion. Last year, the club recorded R$1.334 billion in revenue.

In the document, Flamengo presents a drop in revenue generated by the fan membership program and also from the box office , but that the amounts were offset due to prizes, such as the Copa do Brasil title and the position at the end of the Brazilian Championship.

“The club's results in 2024 were driven by growth in commercial revenues and prize money for titles, which offset the drop in matchday revenues, as box office and fan club performance was below expectations,” the document explains.

Approval by the Supervisory Board

The financial assessment was carried out last Thursday (27) by Flamengo's Fiscal Council. In the signed opinion, the councilors considered that the Financial Statements correctly reflect the club's financial and equity situation .

The document will now be submitted for consideration by the Deliberative Council , which will analyze the numbers presented and officially validate the financial balance for the season. See the note from the Fiscal Council.

“The Fiscal Council of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo , in exercise of the powers defined by article 115 of the Bylaws, in a resolution held on this date, based on the examinations carried out, on the information and clarifications received during the fiscal year and having analyzed the Financial Statements as of December 31, 2024, which include the Balance Sheet, the Income Statement, the Statement of Changes in Equity, the Cash Flow Statement and the Explanatory Notes, as well as the Independent Auditors' Report, issued by Ernst & Young Auditores Independentes S/S, aware of the observations recorded in this Report, is of the opinion that the aforementioned Financial Statements adequately represent , as to the relevant aspects, the patrimonial and financial situation of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo as of December 31, 2024 and, therefore, are in a condition to be submitted for approval by the Deliberative Council”.

Philadelphia 76ers star center Joel Embiid, MVP of the 2022/23 NBA season, once again demonstrated his affection for Flamengo . Last Thursday (21), the Cameroonian player was spotted in an official club store, in Cabo Frio (RJ) , where he made a point of purchasing several red-black products.

A SURPRISING VISIT

Although unusual, Embiid's presence in the Lakes Region has a reason. Married to Brazilian model Anne de Paula, the athlete often visits the city, where his father-in-law lives, during the holidays. This time, he took the opportunity to explore the "Nação Rubro-Negra" store and expand his Flamengo memorabilia collection.

ENTHUSIASM IN THE STORE

The star's arrival took everyone by surprise and caused great excitement among the employees. Salesman Kauan said he was so nervous when he met the player that he forgot to remove the alarm from a piece of furniture, creating an unusual moment: " His father-in-law even joked with me afterward. It was an unforgettable experience ," he revealed.

GENEROUS SHOPPING

Embiid didn't hold back. He brought jerseys for himself, his wife, his father-in-law, and his son , as well as accessories like shorts and thermoses. The visit even helped meet the store's sales goals. The center also obliged some fans and store owners by agreeing to take photos with them.

Embiid's connection with Flamengo isn't new. In 2023, during an interview with the NBA Freestyle program, he revealed that he started supporting Flamengo because of his wife's family: " Actually, I'm a Flamengo fan because my girlfriend's father is a fan . Since we started dating, I've been following the team," he said.

In January 2024, when Flamengo held a preseason training camp in Philadelphia, Embiid met Léo Pereira and Matheus Gonçalves . The defender even posted a photo with the star: " Nice to meet you, brother ." Thus, the relationship between Joel Embiid and Flamengo continues to grow, uniting basketball and soccer in a connection that already transcends borders.
