Preta Gil, 50 years old, went to the National Sanctuary of Our Lady of Aparecida, located in the interior of São Paulo, on Sunday, the 22nd. As she is devoted to the saint, she explained that she visited the basilica to give thanks for the health of the entire his family and also because of his cancer treatment.
“Walk with faith, I will because faith doesn't usually do it! Thank Our Lady of Aparecida for all her support, thank you for the treatment, the support network I have from family and friends, thank you for everyone who prays for me! Thank you,” the singer wrote in an Instagram post.
At the end of August, Preta told her followers that she needed to resume cancer treatment after eight months of remission. The cancer had spread to four parts of his body. She was discharged in September and celebrated the moment with her family.
Preta Gil was diagnosed with bowel cancer at the beginning of last year. Among the symptoms that made her suspect a health problem were intense constipation and flat stools, with mucus and blood.
At the time, she underwent radiotherapy sessions and surgical treatment. The singer also had to undergo a total abdominal hysterectomy, a procedure that involves removing the uterus.
After primary treatment, she entered a phase called “no evidence of the disease”, according to doctors interviewed by the Estadão. In other words, the cancer was no longer detectable by physical, imaging, tomography and/or blood tests.
In August, however, the artist reported that the cancer had returned, being detected in two lymph nodes, in the peritoneum – membrane in the abdominal cavity that surrounds organs such as the stomach and intestine – and in the ureter.
The diagnosis came while Preta was undergoing periodic exams in the remission stage of the disease at Hospital Sírio Libanês, in São Paulo. Recently, in an interview with Fantástico, she said that she had to amputate her rectum last year, during treatment.

Renowned sports narrator Galvão Bueno is about to end his long career on TV Globo. The contract, which runs until the end of this year, will officially end in 2025, according to information from F5 columnist Gabriel Vaquer. The decision would have come from both Bueno and the broadcaster, indicating the end of one of the most iconic partnerships in Brazilian television.
Despite the imminent end of the relationship, Galvão still has commitments to fulfill with TV Globo. According to Vaquer, three projects are scheduled until the end of the contract. Among them, a reality show stands out that will seek to reveal new talents in sports narration, as well as special pictures for the program Esporte Espetacular and an end-of-year special that will mark its farewell.
INVESTMENTS IN THE YOUTUBE CHANNEL
With the departure of the broadcaster, Galvão Bueno should focus on new projects outside of TV Globo, including the return of his channel on YouTube. The initiative, which was interrupted due to contractual obligations, should receive greater attention from the narrator after the end of his relationship with the broadcaster. Galvão continues to be one of the most influential voices in sport in Brazil, having narrated, in 2023, a Brazilian team game with great audience success – a fact that, according to the columnist, would have caused discomfort behind the scenes at Globo.

International star Ne-Yo, known for hits such as "Miss Independent" and "So Sick", prepared a surprise for his debut at Rock in Rio. During his first show at the festival, held this Sunday (22) at Palco World, the American singer invited São Paulo funk singer MC Daniel to make a special appearance. The show, which started at 7pm, marked a moment of rapprochement between international R&B and Brazilian funk.
In an interview with the newspaper O Globo, Ne-Yo revealed that he met MC Daniel during his stay in Brazil and that the connection was immediate. "I met him here, we did a song together and he told me that he also performed at Rock in Rio. So, it made sense to bring him on stage", explained the American singer, shortly before the show.
< This collaboration, according to Ne-Yo, was an opportunity to explore Brazilian music, with which he has been in contact. "I don't know many Brazilian artists, but I'm familiar with the sound. I recently went to a place where they played funk and I really liked it," he added.Behind the scenes, MC Daniel commented on how he was approached by Ne-Yo's agents, who received recommendations about his work.
