During negotiations with Cruzeiro involving Fabricio Bruno, agent André Cury also dealt with another important name: Erick Pulgar. In conversation with the board of Flamengo, Cury revealed that Rennes, a French club, expressed interest in the Chilean midfielder on the advice of coach Jorge Sampaoli. Rennes would be willing to pay 4.5 million euros (around R$27 million) for the player.
Flamengo's response was clear. The board highlighted that Pulgar is seen as an absolute starter in the squad and, therefore, there is no intention of trading him at this time, even in the face of a significant financial proposal. The CRF reinforced that the Chilean's permanence is a priority, especially considering his performance on the field and his importance in the team's tactical scheme.
CONTRATO DE PULGAR É POINT OF DEBATE
Another point discussed at the meeting was the contractual situation of the steering wheel. According to the businessman, Pulgar has already demonstrated that he does not intend to renew his current contract, which is valid until December 2025. Despite this, Mais Querido's management does not seem concerned. The decision was to keep him until the end of the contract, focusing on the technical return that the athlete can offer on the field.
MENGÃO'S STRATEGIC PLANNING
The posture of Flamengo reflects the club's strategy of preserving key members of the squad, even in the face of financial offers. Pulgar has been a constant presence in the red and black midfield, and his continuity is seen as essential for the team's sporting goals in the coming years. With this decision, Flamengo maintains its focus on the technical strengthening of the squad, betting on the stability of players considered essential for success in future competitions.

Midfielder Willian Oliveira has recovered from a knee injury and is back at the disposal of coach Fábio Carille . Zé Marcos and Ronald are also back after suspensions. Defender Neris will be out of the squad after being sent off against Juventude and is serving an automatic suspension.
The medical department remains full : Claudinho, Cáceres, Jamerson, Baralhas, Rúben Ismael, and Romarinho are still recovering, while Matheuzinho is in physical transition. Vitória has 19 points from 20 games and is in the relegation zone of the Brasileirão . During Sunday's training session, the team performed warm-ups, tactical and technical exercises focusing on possession, and defensive set-piece drills. The goalkeepers participated in position-specific drills.
Mengão signed four players in the current transfer market opening and fans are waiting to find out if they will have new arrivals.

Brazilian football's second transfer window is in its final stretch and closes on September 2. With only ten days remaining, the question fans are asking is: will Flamengo still make new signings or could it lose players ?
So far, Flamengo has brought in four players this summer: Emerson Royal, Saúl, Carrascal, and Samuel Lino . Previously, during a special period for the Club World Cup, they had already signed midfielder Jorginho. The internal assessment is that the investments were satisfactory, strengthening areas considered lacking and giving Filipe Luís more options.
The board isn't considering the arrival of new players in this final stretch. Some positions are still being monitored: goalkeeper, center-back, and center-forward . However, the football management team, led by executive José Boto, plans to postpone these changes until the end of the season.
With no negotiations underway, Flamengo is unlikely to sign any more players until the window closes . The priority now is the December transfer window, when the club is expected to move primarily to strengthen its defense.
