Last week, Rodolfo Landim announced that Flamengo's new stadium, to be built on the land of the old Gasometer, will have popular sectors. The sectors, known as "general", will be located behind the goals and will allow fans to watch the games standing up. This initiative aims to make access to the stadium more accessible for fans.

Landim, however, did not specify the capacity of these sectors during his announcement. According to information from journalist Lauro Jardim, from the newspaper O Globo, Flamengo's project expects the stadium to accommodate 15 thousand fans. This number is part of a stadium planned to have a total capacity of 80 thousand people.

The implementation of popular sectors has generated expectations among fans, who await more details about the structure and experience that the new stadium will offer. The idea is to revive the tradition of old stadiums, where fans watched matches standing up, creating a vibrant and intense atmosphere.

The project is still in the discussion phase, but the proposal to include a general 15 thousand people demonstrates Flamengo's commitment to including fans from all social classes. This approach can serve as a model for other clubs seeking to modernize their arenas without losing the popular essence of football.

With an 80,000-seat stadium and popular sectors, Flamengo seeks not only to expand its audience capacity , but also strengthen the connection with its fans. The expectation is that the new stadium will become a landmark in Brazilian football, combining modernity and tradition.

The auction for the purchase of the Gasologista land is scheduled for July 31st. If Flamengo wins the process, whose minimum value is R$138.1 million, it will have the place to build its own stadium. The notice published by Rio City Hall contains some details raised by architect Fabricio Chicca, from the Mundo na Bola channel. Among them, good news for Mengão.

If Rubro-Negro buys the land from Gasologista and there is a suspensive condition during the works, the impediment will not be an obstacle for Flamengo to continue with its licensing and housing processes for the site.

“For the purposes of municipal licensing of the works necessary to fulfill the obligations that justified the expropriation, the suspensive condition provided for in item 4.2 will not be an obstacle to obtaining the appropriate licenses and /or issuance of the certificate of occupancy”

The matter was explained by Chicca: “This is a precaution in the event of a small problem. In other words, a documentary problem, some discussion due to the size of the land, any problem in this regard. The idea is that the process does not stop and the interested party (Flamengo) is able to develop the project (until it is resolved)”, he pointed out.

Flamengo will also have to fulfill obligations for Gasometer

In another part of the notice, the City Hall was clear and warned Flamengo and other potential interested parties that the buyer will not be able to claim ignorance of the land's conditions and not comply with contractual obligations.

“Under no circumstances will ignorance of the state in which the property is located, whether in relation to the measurements, characteristics, functionalities, conversion status or its intrinsic or extrinsic qualities, as well as the registration conditions, be alleged as justification for the failure to execute the proposal”

Fabricio Chicca recalled the issue of contamination in the Gasometer soil. The area was a storage and distribution area for manufactured gas: “This is protection against contamination. It is a general protection from the City of Rio de Janeiro due to the size of the land, but above all, it includes the environmental problem. Whoever buys the land assumes environmental liabilities. If the land is contaminated, whoever buys it takes responsibility”, he concluded.

The transfer window in Brazil opened this week, and Flamengo is looking for reinforcements for the remainder of the season. A longtime desire for the Rio club, Claudinho is getting closer to Gávea. Amid negotiations with Mengão, the midfielder is competing in the final of the Russian Super Cup, in a match that could mark the Zenit (RUS) player's farewell.

The Russian Super Cup pits the champion of Russian Premier League (Zenit) and the country's Cup champion (Krasnodar-RUS). For fans interested in following the match, the ball will roll at the Volgograd Arena from 2:30 pm (Brasília time) this Saturday (13).

The broadcast of Zenit x Krasnodar is exclusive to 'NSports' both on the streaming service and on the YouTube channel. It is worth noting that this unique game is worth the cup and opens the Russian football season, in the same way as what happens in Brazil.

Negotiations between Flamengo and Zenit for Claudinho have progressed in recent days. After making a proposal of 15 million euros (R$89.1 million), the same amount that the Russian club refused last year, the parties are finally close to an agreement of around 18 million euros (R$106.9 million).

In contact with the EuroFootball portal, Luís Garcia, the player's agent, confirmed with a “yes” after being asked if there is an agreement between Flamengo and Zenit for the transfer of Claudinho. Thus, Rubro-Negro awaits the decision of the Russian Super Cup to confirm the signing.

O Flamengo is intensifying its efforts to increase sponsorship revenue at the stadium. In addition to naming rights, the red and black board plans to sell naming rights for specific sectors within the stadium, ranging from central areas to VIP spaces. According to information from Lauro Jardim in the newspaper O Globo, the strategy includes negotiating sponsorships for two sectors located behind the goals and two central sectors.

These locations are considered strategic due to the high visibility they provide during game broadcasts and the constant presence of fans. But the negotiations don't stop there. The club also intends to associate brands with areas such as boxes, auditoriums, press rooms and even stadium corridors. The idea is to maximize the use of all possible spaces, offering sponsors different options for displaying their brands.

FLAMENGO HAS A NEW DIRECTION

This movement is part of a broader strategy increase in revenue and appreciation of the stadium as a whole. Flamengo already had been exploring naming rights, but is now expanding this approach to other sectors, seeking to create new sources of revenue. For sponsors, this is an opportunity to associate their brands with one of the most popular and successful clubs in Brazil. With a passionate fan base and a constant media presence, spaces at Flamengo's stadium are seen as highly valuable.

In addition, the presence of sponsors in different sectors of the stadium can provide continuous visibility and long-term, both for fans attending games and for viewers of live broadcasts. For Flamengo, these agreements represent an important source of additional revenue. In a scenario of constant search for financial resources to maintain competitiveness, the sale of naming rights for stadium sectors can provide a significant cash flow.
