Conmebol pays prizes for each victory in the group and for classification in the round of 16
|
0Flamengo finished the Libertadores group stage with a victory over Millonarios and qualified for the round of 16, but also made a financial profit. Mengão is entitled to an award from Conmebol for advancing to the stage and for each of the three victories it had in Group E. In total, the first phase brings in 3,990 million dollars to the coffers, R$ 20.7 million at the current price.< /p>
3 million dollars (R$ 15.6 million) are for qualifying for the round of 16, an amount paid to all 16 teams. The other 990 thousand dollars (R$ 5.1 million) correspond to the triumphs over Bolívar, Palestino and Millonarios at Maracanã, 330 thousand each, and complete the amount. Payment is made by Conmebol to the CBF, which passes it on to the clubs.
It is worth noting that the expectation before the tournament started was that Flamengo would raise even more than the 3.9 million dollars. This is because projections pointed to Red-Negro as the leader with some ease, but the lack of victories away from home prevented leadership and greater revenue.
The 2024 Libertadores prize is the record in the history of the competition, and Flamengo can finish the tournament with a total of R$167.7 million more in the coffers. This is because the knockout stage is worth 28.25 million dollars (R$ 147 million) for the champion.

0Filipe Luís, idol and now interim coach of Flamengo, officially took command of the main team this Monday (30). The former player began preparing the squad with the aim of reorganizing the team for the sequence of games. The first training session led by Filipe took place at 3:30 pm (Brasília time) at CT Ninho do Urubu, and marks the beginning of his journey in the new role. The club is confident that his experience on the field will bring immediate benefits to the team.
The announcement of Filipe Luís as interim coach came after the dismissal of the previous coach, who left the position after a series of negative results. As a result, Flamengo's board opted for an internal and temporary solution, betting on a name that knows the squad and has a good relationship with the players. The former left-back, who built a solid and respected career in European and Brazilian football, now faces the challenge of guiding Flamengo to a recovery within the season.
During the first training session, Filipe prioritized tactical organization and defensive positioning, areas that he has always mastered as a player. Ninho do Urubu had an atmosphere of concentration and seriousness, with the athletes responding positively to the new commander's instructions. Filipe Luís also dedicated a significant part of his time to individual conversations with some players, seeking to understand their expectations and align the strategy for the upcoming games.
Filipe Luís' challenge in the Flamengo will not be easy, considering the pressure for results and the club's unstable moment . The board did not determine a specific deadline for the former full-back to remain as interim coach, but the expectation is that he will lead the team until the arrival of a new effective coach. Behind the scenes, it is said that the transition with a name already known internally can help minimize the impacts of drastic changes.
Filipe Luís is a big name in the Flamengo, with a winning record and respect earned on and off the field. The board's confidence in the former player's work is an indication that he will have the freedom to implement some of his tactical ideas, but always with the focus on maintaining the team's balance and competitiveness. According to sources linked to the club, Filipe has the full support of the players and the technical committee, who see in him a positive leadership for the group.
With the beginning of this new cycle, Flamengo hopes to return to the path of victories and stabilize performance within the championship. The fans, who have always been an important force for the club, are already mobilizing to support their idol in this challenge. For now, Filipe Luís' mission will be to organize the house and prepare the squad for the next commitments, while the board defines the team's future coach.

0The "marriage" between Tite and Flamengo officially came to an end this Monday (30), with the announcement of the coach's dismissal. Thus, the coach ends his time at Rubro-Negro after 70 games, with a 64.7% success rate, in addition to having won a state title and suffering a disappointing elimination in the Libertadores da América.
Tite took over Flamengo on October 9, 2023, after the departure of Jorge Sampaoli. The former Brazilian national team coach signed a contract until the end of 2024, but his departure comes three months ahead of schedule.
During his time in charge of Flamengo, Tite accumulated 70 matches, totaling 41 wins, 13 draws and 16 defeats. Under his management, the team scored 109 goals and conceded 50. He also led the team to win the Campeonato Carioca undefeated.
Despite a promising start, Flamengo's performances under his command of Tite did not please the majority of the fans. The team, which led the Brasileirão for a few rounds, began to oscillate and currently occupies fourth place with 48 points, nine behind leader Botafogo, who has 57.
Three-time Libertadores champion, Flamengo entered the 2024 edition as one of the favorites and top seed of Group E. However, the team's performance in the group stage fell below expectations, resulting in a second-place finish. In the round of 16, Mais Querido beat Bolívar (BOL) 2-1 on aggregate, but was eliminated in the quarter-finals after being defeated by Peñarol (URU) without managing to score a goal.
In addition to Tite, the entire technical committee is also leaving Flamengo a>. Among the professionals leaving the club are assistants Cleber Xavier, Matheus Bachi, César Sampaio and Vinícius Bergantin, physical trainer Fábio Mahseredjian and performance analyst Lucas Oliveira.
