Bruno Henrique already has great expectations about the next Mengão game. The striker stood out in the match against Coritiba, even though he was not responsible for the winning team's three goals. Without the Libertadores or the Copa do Brasil, next month the team's focus will be 100% on the Brasileirão.

All Mais Querido players ended the weekend refreshed. After a victory won in stoppage time against Coritiba, the team managed to reduce the distance from the competition leader, Botafogo. The 3 to 2 left Flamengo with 35 points in the Brazilian Championship, while Palmeiras, in second place, has 37 points and Alvinegro from Rio has a great advantage of 11 points (48 points in the table).

And a large part of the responsibility for winning this Sunday (20) belongs to Bruno Henrique, the 'Player of the Game', according to the fans' election. "Tough game (against Coritiba), overcoming and we won. That's it, we're going to keep working, we know we need to improve, so we can reach the end of the year aiming for the Brasileirão", said the number 27. p>With a lot of focus, the athlete has already finished the match with his eyes on the next dispute: “Now we have a game at home, in front of our fans, against a great team. It will be a great game again". After facing Coritiba in Paraná, the next game will be in Maracanã against Internacional. The game starts at 6:30 pm (Brasília time) this Saturday (26).

It's important remember that Mais Querido has something close to an 'advantage'. With the elimination of Libertadores, the team will have the whole week to prepare for the game against the Gauchos. Internacional, on the other hand, will have games on the next two Tuesdays -Fridays (August 22nd and 29th) for the South American Championship.

Last Wednesday (18), representatives from Flamengo and Caixa Econômica Federal held another meeting to resolve the impasse surrounding the Gasologista land, acquired by the club in July. The meeting had the support of Rio de Janeiro City Hall and the Attorney General's Office (AGU), and a new meeting scheduled for next week, in Brasília, could seal the definitive agreement. The information was released by journalist Diogo Dantas, from the newspaper "O Globo".

Mengão's board of directors, represented by president Rodolfo Landim, vice-general Rodrigo Dunshee, CEO Reinaldo Belotti and vice-president of equity Marcos Bodin, was optimistic about the possibility of a solution soon. Caixa questions the amount paid by the club at the land auction, but everything indicates that an additional amount could resolve the legal conflict by next month.

INVOLVEMENT OF THE CITY OF RIO

The meeting was also attended by deputy Pedro Paulo and the club's director of external relations, Cacau Cotta, who have acted as intermediaries between the club and the mayor from Rio, Eduardo Paes. In August, a meeting involving the bank's president, Carlos Vieira, president Lula and mayor Eduardo Paes had already signaled the path to an agreement.

IMPORTANCE OF THE AGREEMENT FOR FLAMENGO

Mais Querido's director of external relations, Cacau Cotta, highlighted that the agreement is the ideal way to give peace of mind to the club. "For the club, a good agreement is always better than an eternal discussion about values. The land has already been expropriated. The agreement is ideal to eliminate any doubts and for Flamengo to have the necessary peace of mind to begin the work", said Cotta.

This Thursday (19), Flamengo hosts Peñarol (URU) at Maracanã, at 7pm (Brasília time), in a match valid for the quarter-finals of the Copa Libertadores da América. In search of a good advantage for the second leg, coach Tite will have to deal with several important absences in the red and black squad.

Peñarol coach, Diego Aguirre, defined the starting lineup for the match decisive. With no important absences, the Uruguayan team takes to the field with: Aguerre; Léo Coelho, Javier Méndez, Guzmán Rodríguez; Pedro Milans, Eduardo Darías, Damián García, Javier Cabrera, Léo Fernández, Maximiliano Olivera; and Maximiliano Silvera.

Aguirre will have almost his entire squad at his disposal. The only player out of the match is Damian Suarez, who has not yet had his name regularized after his recent arrival at the Uruguayan club. However, Suarez's absence is not a concern, as the coach has a complete squad for the clash against Mengão. b>

On the other hand, Mais Querido has to deal with six confirmed absences. Cebolinha, Pedro, Luiz Araújo, Gabigol, Michael and Viña are out of the match, all due to injuries. These absences complicate the formation of coach Tite, who will have to adjust the team to seek a good result playing at home.

Last Sunday (15), Flamengo and Vasco drew 1-1, at Maracanã, in a match valid for the 26th round of the Brazilian Championship. The result, although frustrating for the red and blacks, who dominated much of the match, kept them eight points behind leader Botafogo.

Mais Querido entered the field imposing his pace and controlling the actions for most of the game. The red-black goal was scored by Gerson, who has been standing out in recent matches. However, CRF conceded the draw in the final minutes, which prevented a more significant approach to the classification table.

STRATEGY FOR THE FINAL STRAIGHT OF THE BRASILEIRÃO

Even with the difference in points for Botafogo, the technical committee, led by Tite, devised a strategy focused on keeping the team competitive until the last rounds. According to information from the Coluna do Fla portal, the objective is to arrive "alive" in the fight for the title in the final five rounds. Matheus Bachi, assistant coach, believes that the recent good performance against Bahia and Vasco could be an indication that the team is on the right track to fight for the top again.

< p>DECISIVE CONFRONTATION IN THE LIBERTADORES

While trying to get closer to the leaders in the Brasileirão, Mengão is already preparing for the next challenge in the Libertadores. The team will face Peñarol, at Maracanã, in the quarterfinals of the continental tournament. The Rio team is looking for a good result at home before traveling to Uruguay for the second leg next week.
