Without hiring reinforcements for the defense, Flamengo was named after Angolan defender Kialonda Gaspar, from Estrela da Amadora, in Portugal. According to journalist Venê Casagrande, from SBT Rio, the person who offered Gaspar to Mengão was Jorge Jesus' manager. Marcos Braz and Bruno Spindel have not yet decided whether they will open negotiations with the African.
“I know that this name was offered to Marcos Braz and Bruno Spindel when they were in Europe, in Portugal. He is a player for Estrela da Amadora, from Portugal, defender, he was offered by Jorge Jesus' manager. His name is Kialonda Gaspar, better known as Gaspar. He is Angolan and is 26 years old”, informed Venê, on his YouTube channel.
As said by the journalist, Gaspar was already in the sights of Portuguese giant Porto, but the conversations did not progress at the time. Therefore, Flamengo is aware that the transaction would not be cheap. The club continues to struggle to sign Léo Ortiz. P>
“he is one of the team's highlights. In fact, the person who sent this to me said: ‘Venê, Porto has already tried to sign Gaspar from Estrela da Amadora, but the values did not reach an agreement’. In other words, it really is a name offered for the Flamengo board. Whether there will be negotiations or not depends on a lot”, he concluded.
Kialonda Gaspar's contract with the Portuguese team will only end in June 2026. Captain of Estrela Amadora, his market value is assessed in 1 million euros, around R$5 million. It could be an amount used by Flamengo to try to convince its team to agree to the deal. However, the request from the Portuguese must be much greater.

With a renewed presence on the international stage, Chelsea returns to the FIFA Club World Cup after conquering the European continent on different fronts in recent years. The place in the 2025 edition was secured with the UEFA Champions League title in the 2020-21 season, when the club lifted Europe's most coveted trophy. With this, it sealed its participation in the global tournament.
Los Angeles FC were initially not guaranteed a spot at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. A spot seemed a long way off until Mexico's León — the 2023 CONCACAF Champions League champions — were excluded from the tournament for failing to comply with FIFA's multi-club ownership rules.
With the Mexican club's elimination, one last chance arose: a playoff match between LAFC and Club América-MEX, for the last place among the 32 participants. After an electrifying duel, decided only in extra time, the Californian team won 2-1 and secured its first participation in the competition.
CHELSEA: Sanchez; James, Adarabioyo, Colwill, Cucurella; Enzo Fernández, Caicedo, Madueke, Cole Palmer; Neto and Delap. Coach: Enzo Maresca.
LOS ANGELES FC: Lloris; Palencia, Long, Segura, Hollingshead; Delgado, Igor Jesus, Tilman, Yeboah; Ordaz and Bouanga. Coach: Steve Cherundolo.

It is worth remembering that CazéTV will also broadcast the match, however, it has not announced the broadcast team yet. Despite this, Luis Felipe Freitas should narrate Flamengo's debut in the Club World Cup, since he will not be in charge of the commentary for Benfica x Boca Juniors and Chelsea x LAFC. Casimiro Miguel and Fernando Campos should be the probable commentators for the match.
The Red-Blacks are coming into the game with high morale after securing the lead in the Brasileirão and qualifying for the round of 16 of the Libertadores before traveling to the United States. Flamengo's team received only one reinforcement for the competition: Jorginho. The Italian-Brazilian midfielder has a good chance of making his debut with the Sacred Mantle this Monday.
The only player missing from Filipe Luís' team will be De La Cruz. The Uruguayan, despite training with the ball, is still not 100% ready to return to the pitch after injuring his left knee.
With that, the coach should send the following lineup onto the field: Agustín Rossi; Wesley, Léo Ortiz, Léo Pereira and Alex Sandro (Ayrton Lucas); Erick Pulgar, Gerson (Jorginho) and Arrascaeta; Luiz Araújo, Michael and Bruno Henrique.
The teams will face each other on Monday night (16), in a match valid for the first round of the intercontinental competition.

Flamengo takes to the field this Monday (16) , in a match against Espérance, at 10 pm. Thus, coach Maher Kanzari outlined the team he will send to the field for the debut in the Club World Cup.
Ben Said; Mohamed Amine Tougaï, Amine Ben Hmida, Mohamed Ben Ali and Hamza Jelassi; Onuche Ogbelu, Khalil Guenichi and Houssem Tka; Youcef Belaïli, Yan Sasse (Chiheb Jbali) and Rodrigo Rodrigues.
It is worth noting that Espérance still has one doubt for the match against Flamengo. This is because defender Yassine Meriah, injured since the beginning of the season, only had a few minutes in the final of the National Cup and is unlikely to be a starter in the first match of the World Cup.
For the match later today, coach Filipe Luís will not be able to count on the presence of Nico De La Cruz. Although the midfielder has already started his transition to the field, he is not yet 100% recovered from his injury and should only return to action in the match against Chelsea, on the 20th.
Thus, Flamengo and Espérance (TUN) will face each other on Monday night (16), at 10 pm (Brasília time), in a match valid for the first round of the group stage of the Club World Cup. The Mais Querido will be looking for their first victory in the tournament.
