Flamengo lost to Bolívar in the Copa Libertadores, and the executioner was an athlete born in Pará de Minas, in the interior of Minas Gerais. Created by América and former teammate of Richarlison, Bruno Sávio found the net on Wednesday night (24) and declared the Bolivian team's victory 2-1, at the Hernando Siles Stadium, in La Paz.
< 29-year-old attacking midfielder, Bruno Sávio is in his second spell at Bolívar and is going through a great phase: he has four goals and four assists in the last five matches. Against the powerful Flamengo, in Bolivia, the Minas Gerais native was responsible for the winning goal in the 17th minute of the second half, with a shot crossed with his right leg.
Bruno Sávio became a promise for América's academy by scoring 9 goals in the BH Junior Football Cup title campaign in 2014. The following year, he became a professional, but did not perform as well : there were only four goals in 50 games, 22 as a starter.
During his career, Bruno defended Mirassol, Bragantino, Cuiabá, NK Istra 1961, from Croatia, Avaí, Al-Ahly, from Egypt, and Guarani, where he experienced one of his best moments as a professional. In two years at the Campinas club, between 2020 and 2021, he scored 15 goals and provided 11 assists in 78 games.
Almost a decade before standing out in the Libertadores, Bruno Sávio played for América with Richarlison. Flamengo's tormentor and the Tottenham and Brazilian team's striker were protagonists of a Series B game wearing the American shirt.
Against Mogi Mirim, on October 3, 2015, Coelho's youngsters scored a 2-1 victory. Away from home, Richarlison scored the first American goal and Bruno Sávio scored the second. The result on that occasion was very important for América, who returned to the G4 of Series B in the 29th round and never left. Coelho rose to the elite of the Brazilian Championship in fourth place, with 65 points.
