Flamengo has reached a decision on the sale of Wesley to a Premier League team

The right-back stood out at the Club World Cup and attracted European interest, but the red-black board wants a figure higher than 30 million euros

Flamengo has received an official offer from Brighton, England , to sign right-back Wesley. The offer, as revealed by journalist Jorge Nicola, is around 23.4 million euros , which is equivalent to approximately R$148 million. The player, who has been standing out with good performances in the Club World Cup, has caught the attention of several clubs in Europe.

Despite the interest, the board of directors of Mais Querido considers the value to be below expectations. Internally, Flamengo is working with an evaluation of over 30 million euros to start more concrete talks about a possible sale.

HIGHLIGHTS IN THE WORLD CUP AND CALL-UPS

Wesley was a starter in Mengão 's last matches and drew attention especially in the duel against Chelsea. Despite having made a mistake in the play that led to Pedro Neto's goal , the full-back's performance was praised for his intensity and offensive strength.

His recent performance has not gone unnoticed. The player was called up by Dorival Júnior for the Brazilian national team and was also on the radar of Carlo Ancelotti, coach of the Spanish national team. For executive director José Boto, the youngster is ready to play in European football.

FLAMENGO IS POSITIVE ON A FIRM STRATEGY TO NEGOTIATE

The board's stance is clear: there will only be a deal if the values truly meet the requirements. " This proposal must be rejected and, in my view, it will be the first of many that Flamengo will receive in the coming days," said Jorge Nicola.

Disputed in the market, Flamengo can profit millions with the sale of Cria do Ninho

Even outside the negotiations between Palmeiras and Atlético de Madrid, the Rubro-Negro from Rio should receive a millionaire sum for being the club that trained the midfielder

Flamengo is closely following the behind-the-scenes of the transfer of Richard Ríos, Palmeiras midfielder, to Atlético de Madrid. Although the Mais Querido is not directly involved in the negotiation , it has a lot to gain from the billion-dollar transaction underway.

This is due to FIFA's Solidarity Mechanism, which guarantees a percentage of international transfers to clubs that participated in the athlete's development . Before standing out in professional football, Ríos had a stint in the youth team of the Rio de Janeiro club.

SALE OF RIVERS COULD BRING BENEFIT TO FLAMENGO

According to market information, the value of the Colombian's transfer could reach R$220 million (equivalent to €38 million) , which would represent one of the biggest negotiations in Palmeiras' history. The share that goes to Flamengo , according to estimates, is around 1.5% of the sale — approximately R$3.3 million.

The midfielder played for Mengão's futsal and under-20 teams between 2019 and 2020 , which is enough for the club to claim his share as a trainer, as determined by FIFA regulations for athletes between 12 and 23 years old.

RICHARD RÍOS HAD A PASSAGE THROUGH THE BASE

Although many fans associate Richard Ríos only with Palmeiras, the athlete's history in Brazil began with Flamengo . The Colombian played for the team's futsal team and later joined the under-20 squad on the field.

Flamengo held its last training session on Monday morning (23) before the match against Los Angeles FC, in the third round of the Club World Cup group stage. The match will be this Tuesday (24), at 10 pm (Brasília time), at Camping World Stadium, in Orlando.

Already qualified for the round of 16 of the competition and with the leadership of Group D guaranteed after two victories, Mais Querido took advantage of the activity held at Stockton University to adjust the final details of the team that will enter the field.

DE LA CRUZ IS STILL OUT

One of the players who was out of action today was Uruguayan midfielder De La Cruz , who felt pain in his left knee again. Despite having undergone an imaging test last Sunday (22), no new injuries were detected. Even so, the player will remain under the care of the medical department and will not participate in the match against the North American team.

LINEUPS DEFINED

Filipe Luis's team is likely to have some changes compared to the match against Chelsea. Flamengo 's likely starting lineup is: Rossi; Varela, Léo Ortiz, Léo Pereira and Alex Sandro; Allan, Jorginho and Arrascaeta; Michael, Everton Cebolinha and Pedro.

Los Angeles, coached by Steve Cherundolo, will go with the starting team, even though they are no longer in a position to qualify: Lloris; Sergi Palencia, Maxime Chanot, Eddie Segura and Ryan Hollingshead; Igor Jesus, Timothy Tillman and Mark Delgado; Cengiz Ünder, Olivier Giroud and Denis Bouanga.
