0This Wednesday (05) the draw for the round of 16 of Libertadores 2023 will be held. The draw, which will take place in Asunción, Paraguay, will decide which teams will face each other in the next stages of the championship.
Flamengo is still classified after managing to accumulate 11 points in Group A. Racing (ARG) was the other team that left its group with the first place. Having finished the Group stage in second place, Flamengo must, by regulation, face one of the teams that ended up ranked as the best in their respective group. The available teams are: Fluminense, Boca Juniors, Racing, Independiente del Valle, Internacional, Palmeiras, Athletico-PR and Olimpia.
In addition to the quarterfinals, Flamengo can face any of the remaining teams in the knockout stage. This includes Racing, with whom he already played in the group stage, and the other five remaining Brazilian teams. The other clubs that, like Mais Querido, were second in the table are: Nacional, Bolívar, River Plate, Argentinos Juniors, Deportivo Pereira, Atlético-MG and Atlético Nacional.
Fla's next game for the competition will be away from home - having finished second in its Group - and will take place in the week of August 2nd to 9th. But there is one consolation: if Mengão reaches the final he will be at home. The Libertadores 2023 final is scheduled to take place at Maracanã on November 4th.
