After the 4-0 win over Internacional , this Sunday (11), coach Renato Paiva confirmed that Botafogo will have important absences in the next matches against Estudiantes , for the Libertadores, and Flamengo , for the Brazilian Championship.
In a press conference, the coach stated that Alexander Barboza , Matheus Martins and Savarino are out of both matches. The trio, considered starters, are still recovering in the medical department.

“ I can’t tell you (when they’ll be back), but it won’t be for the next games, certainly. Savarino, Barboza and Mateus, right? It won’t be for the next games, at least not Flamengo and Estudiantes,” declared the Portuguese coach.
Barboza suffered an injury to his left foot on April 30, in a match against Capital-DF , for the Copa do Brasil. In the same match, Savarino suffered a muscle injury in his right thigh . Matheus Martins is recovering from a problem in his left thigh.
In addition to them, Gonzalo Mastriani and Bastos are also out of action and will hardly be available for the classic against Flamengo, next Sunday (18), at 6:30 pm, at Maracanã.
Botafogo and Flamengo are facing pressure in the group stage of the Libertadores . In the goalless draw between Flamengo and Cruzeiro , last Thursday (02), striker Gabigol experienced a special reunion with the red-black fans at Maracanã . Even with few minutes on the field, the former Fla player relived memorable moments of his time at the club.

Palmeiras announced the signing of 19-year-old striker Felipe Teresa from Flamengo. The young player was released by the Rio de Janeiro club on September 22, 2025, after behavioral issues stemming from dissatisfaction with losing his starting spot in the under-20 team.

Discovered by Independente de Limeira, Felipe Teresa joined Flamengo in 2022, at just 15 years old.
