After a long period of negotiations with Flamengo, International agreed to sign Thiago Maia on loan. Now, the midfielder is hoping to take the field for the club from Rio Grande do Sul. The player's debut could even take place next Wednesday (13), at the Mané Garrincha stadium, in the second phase of the Copa do Brasil.
International received a letter from the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) stating that Thiago Maia is ready to play in the second phase of the national knockout tournament, with the number 29 shirt. In addition to the former Flamengo player, Colombian striker Borré was also released to debut for the club from Rio Grande do Sul in the Copa do Brasil.< /p>
Thiago Maia agreed to go to Internacional on loan until December this year. After the negotiations were finalized, the midfielder was announced and then registered in the Daily Newsletter (BID) on the transfer window deadline – March 7th.
Physically, the former Flamengo number 8 says he is ready to debut for Internacional. Furthermore, Maia valued his history at Gávea, where he won Carioca, Copa do Brasil, Supercopa, Recopa, Brasileirão and Libertadores.
“In terms of fitness, I was training at Flamengo, even if separately. . Of course, this will never erase the history I made within the club, but I was already training separately. Physically, I'm fine. If he needs (Eduardo Coudet), I'm ready to play. I'm ready, prepared and willing”, he pointed out.
Thiago Maia made 170 appearances for Flamengo and scored five goals. Furthermore, he won eight titles: Libertadores, Copa do Brasil, Brasileirão, Recopa, Supercopa (2x) and Campeonato Carioca (2x). However, since Tite's arrival, the player lost space and began training separately from the squad at Ninho do Urubu. Athletico has officially signed 17-year-old left-back Luiz Phellipe from Flamengo on loan. The player joins the Furacão team in the FPF Cup, initially competing with the Paraná club's youth academy.
Luiz Phellipe has appeared in 12 official matches for Flamengo's under-20s this season, starting only three. His last appearance came on July 23, when he came on as a second-half substitute in a 1-0 loss to Fortaleza in the Brazilian Championship .
