Last week, Flamengo gymnast Jade Barbosa announced that she is expecting her first child. The athlete posted a photo on Instagram this Sunday (29) showing off her baby bump, where she appears wearing a blue bikini to enjoy the beach.
Jade married Leandro Fontanesi in September 2024, after winning the bronze medal at the Paris Olympics. The pregnancy was announced earlier this month on the gymnast's social media.
Another dream is coming true. We are very happy," she wrote, having not yet announced the baby's sex.
After winning bronze at Paris 2024, Jade underwent surgery on her right knee to correct a partial tear in her anterior cruciate ligament. Jade is still planning to return to gymnastics after becoming a mother. She has reiterated that she does not intend to retire, highlighting that the female sports scene is evolving in terms of balancing high performance and motherhood.
