Raphael Bahia celebrated another important milestone at Flamengo. After completing a year at the Gávea club, he reached 50 games at Rubro-Negro's youth team. Raphael has 32 wins, seven draws and 11 defeats. Furthermore, under his command, the team scored 88 goals and conceded only 38.
"Happy to complete 50 games at the head of the institution Clube de Regatas do Flamengo. A brand that personally speaking means a lot to me, for everything we have achieved so far and for the weight of the shirt that I represent. May it be the first of many”, wrote the coach.
Raphael Bahia arrived at Flamengo in 2023 to lead the under-16 team. However , this year, he had to take over Rubro-Negro in the Copinha right after the end of the group stage, as Mario Jorge and 12 players returned to Rio for the Campeonato Carioca.
Despite the absences, he led the Garotos do Ninho until the semi-final stage. With his outstanding work in the Copa São Paulo 2024, Raphael was promoted from under-16 to under-20 B. At the club, he has already won three titles: the Flamengo Adidas Cup Under-16; the Brasil Soccer Cup U16; and the Liam Brady Cup U16 (undefeated).
At the beginning of last month, Raphael Bahia celebrated his first year at the club with a message of gratitude in his social networks, expressing how significant his journey at Flamengo has been so far. In command of the under-20 B team, Bahia accumulates impressive numbers: 46 games played, with 29 wins, seven draws and 10 defeats, which results in an impressive 68% success rate.

In a match valid for the fourth round of the Carioca Women's Under-20 Championship, Flamengo defeated Serrano 20-0, this Saturday afternoon (14), in Gávea. Ingrid (4), Ana Papel, Maria Peck (2), Cecília, Anna Luiza (3), Alice, Leane (4), Duda Detori, Letícia Pinho (2) and Isabela Nunes scored Mengão's goals.
The game
The match had barely started and Flamengo opened the scoring after just two minutes. Isabela Nunes crossed into the area, Anna Luiza set it up for Ingrid to hit the goalkeeper: 1 to 0.
The red-black team continued to control possession of the ball and scored the second after seven minutes. Ana Papel caught the ball beautifully and hit the angle, with no chance for the goalkeeper: 2-0. Soon after, it was Maria Peck's turn to take a risk from distance and score the third goal of the match after just nine minutes.
The Meninas da Gávea didn't let up and expanded at 12'. Ingrid took advantage of the cross in the area to move the goalkeeper and score the fourth. Six minutes later, Mais Querido scored the fifth with Cecília, with a header: 5 to 0.
After the fifth goal, Cecília asked to leave and gave way to Gaby Bastos. Despite the large advantage on the scoreboard, Mengão went up in search of more. At 29', Ana Papel made a great move and passed the ball for her namesake Anna Luiza to cover: 6 to 0.
Serrano barely gave away the ball and the red-blacks scored the seventh of the match with another great goal from Anna Luiza from outside the area, also through coverage: 7 to 0.
To give final numbers to the first stage, Meninas da Gávea found the net four more times, with Alice, Ingrid (2 ) and Maria Peck. Rubro-Negro went into the break with an 11-0 lead. Highlight for striker Ingrid, who scored four times.
On the way back to the second half, Leane received the ball alone in the area and touched it low into the corner to make it 12-0. At 9', Anna Luiza entered the area alone and hit it into the goalkeeper's right corner: 13 to 0. It was shirt 10's hat-trick in the game.
As Meninas da Gávea didn't slow down and expanded in the 14th minute. Anna Luiza played the ball to Alice, who provided a beautiful light screen for Leane to reach with a cross: 14 to 0. Seven minutes later, Leane again entered the area alone and scored another hat-trick in the match: 15 to 0.
Right-winger Leane came into the match with everything and scored her fourth goal in the 37th minute. After taking off, she dribbled past the goalkeeper and scored the 16th goal. Then, Duda Detori further extends the advantage with a penalty kick: 17 to 0.
In the last minutes, Meninas da Gávea scored three more goals to give final figures to the rout. Letícia Pinho (twice) and Isabela Nunes completed the scoring in the great 20-0 victory.

Playing at home, at CT das Vargens, Flamengo defeated União Central, 2-1, this Thursday, in the Guilherme Embry Under-16 Tournament. The red and black goals were scored by Victor Hugo, the highlight of the match. The next game for Garotos do Ninho will take place on Sunday (22), when they will face Botafogo, away from home.

At 10 of the second half, on a free kick from Rogério, the goalkeeper rebounded, and Victor Hugo put it into the back of the net: 1 to 0. After taking the draw before the technical timeout, Mengão didn't take long to get back in front on the scoreboard , with Victor Hugo once again.

The club tries to get back on its feet

The Flamengo , historically recognized for its strong player training base, has faced a frequent reality in football: the departure of young athletes to rival clubs. The club's youth categories, widely contested and with a constant renewal of talent, mean that not all players are able to pursue a career at Rubro-Negro. This generates significant turnover, with some players transferring to other teams in search of more opportunities.
One of the most recent cases of this movement is that of Levy Benjamin, an athlete who was part of the U13 from Flamengo, but who, around five weeks ago, was announced as a reinforcement for Botafogo. The young player is a promise of Rio football and plays in two positions: attacking midfielder and left-back. The athlete's versatility caught the attention of Alvinegro, who integrated him into their base squad.
This scenario, however, , is not an exception. In total, six players who were in the youth categories of Flamengorecently migrated to Botafogo. The list includes athletes of different age groups and positions. João Gabriel, U-11 right-back, Lorran Egon, U-12 defender, Pietro França, U-12 attacking midfielder, Gustavo, U-13 defender, Levy Benjamin, left-back and U-12 attacking midfielder Sub-13, and Miguel Ramiro, attacker of the Sub-13, are the names that left Flamengo and are now part of Botafogo.
The departure of these young athletes raises a warning for the Flamengo, mainly in relation to competition in the development of Rio football promises. Botafogo, like other clubs in Rio de Janeiro, has invested in attracting talent that, for some reason, does not stick to the red and black base. This phenomenon is common, especially in clubs that have a large number of athletes at the base, which makes it difficult to retain all players who have potential.
