Flamengo's squad returned this Monday with some great news. After seven months out due to a serious injury to his left knee , Pedro was released by the medical department and returned to training with the group at Ninho do Urubu.

"Back! I missed being with everyone. I just want to thank God," the number 9 posted on his social media.

The Flamengo forward is following a specific schedule for physical reconditioning, but is no longer on the list of athletes in the medical department. The coaching staff expects Pedro to be ready to play again in April, as Filipe Luís announced after the draw against Internacional.

THE STRIKER'S RECOVERY HAD A GRADUAL EVOLUTION ON THE FIELD

At the end of February, Pedro was cleared to play on the field. A few days later, he appeared to be taking part in the first warm-ups with the squad. The injury occurred in September of last year, during training with the Brazilian national team. In a play without contact with other players, the center forward ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. After surgery, he began rehabilitation the following month.

PEDRO HAD HIS BEST GOAL AVERAGE EVEN WITHOUT A FULL SEASON

Despite the serious injury and long period on the sidelines, Pedro recorded his best goalscoring average of his career in 2024. Before the injury, he had scored 32 times in 45 games, achieving 0.7 goals per game. This performance surpassed his previous numbers, although his most prolific year in terms of overall goals was 2023, with 35 goals in 61 games.

In a press conference at Ninho do Urubu, goalkeeper Agustín Rossi spoke about his desire to be called up to the Argentina national team , the current world champion. Despite his dream, the goalkeeper made it clear that his priority remains Flamengo.

TOTAL FOCUS ON FLAMENGO

The Argentine stressed that he keeps his feet on the ground and that his main goal is to continue showing consistency for the Rubro-Negro , who have the best defense in the Brasileirão, conceding only 10 goals in 22 games. At Maracanã, the Mais Querido conceded only three goals.

"I'm in no rush, because my job is for Flamengo , day to day, game to game. My biggest focus is to maintain this streak so that the call-up can come. Of course I have that desire, but I don't treat it as a requirement . I'm Flamengo's goalkeeper, I'm responsible for Flamengo. If the call-up comes, I'll welcome it," he added.

Since joining Flamengo in 2023, Rossi has already won four titles. Last season, he was a key player in the undefeated Carioca Championship and also played in the Copa do Brasil victory. In 2025, he maintained his starting spot in the Supercopa do Brasil and the Campeonato Estadual . In total, he has represented Flamengo in 125 official matches, establishing himself as a pillar of the team.
