The singer Nego do Borel suffered yet another defeat in court, after the 14th Chamber of Private Law of the Court of Justice do Rio deny his appeal. The decision was announced last Thursday (2), according to information from journalist Ancelmo Gois, from the newspaper O Globo, the case 

Remember that the case involves a show that should have taken place in October 2023, during a 15th birthday party at Copacabana Palace. Nego do Borel did not attend the event, leaving the debutante and her guests frustrated. Despite all the contractual requirements met by the birthday girl's parents, including stage structure, security team, extra generator and 12 year old whiskey, the show did not take place.

Nego do Borel tried to contest the material damages claiming that the expenses for items such as whiskey, generator and security were not foreseen in the contract and that they were also used by the DJ who performed at the event. However, evidence presented shows that all expenses were duly agreed upon.

The court decision reinforced that “there is no excessive or undue charge ”, also highlighting that the moral damages are evident:  “It doesn’t take much effort to understand the need for reparation, because there was a violation of the dignity of the perpetrators”, stated the judge.

In the first instance, Nego do Borel had already been ordered to pay R$30,000 for moral damages, R$30,000 in contractual fines and around R$ 86 thousand for material damage. The total invested in the party exceeded R$500 thousand.
