Flamengo decided to loan the young striker Pettersonto Estrela Amadora, a club from Portugal, for a period of 12 months. The negotiation includes a purchase option of 700 thousand euros, approximately R$4 million, for 70% of the player's economic rights. The information was released by journalist Venê Casagrande.

Petterson, aged 20, began his career in football with promises of success. At the beginning of this year, he had been loaned to Athletico-PR, but his time at the club from Paraná was abruptly interrupted due to an act of indiscipline that resulted in his removal from the team.

A NEW ROAD FOR THE ATTACKER

At Athletico-PR, the expectation was that Petterson would gain experience and be able to show his potential in a competitive environment. However, his career was marked by an incident that led the club to remove him. This episode raised questions about the young striker's discipline and professionalism, calling into question his continuity in Brazilian football.

The loan to Estrela Amadora appears as a new opportunity for Petterson to reverse his image and prove its value in a new environment. Playing in Europe, even for a smaller club, can be an important step in your professional and personal development. The purchase option signals that Estrela Amadora sees potential in the player and is willing to invest in his future.

Flamengo, who disappointed their fans last Thursday (26) by being eliminated from the Libertadores da América 2024, is now back training at Ninho do Urubu. Without the right to take a day off on Friday (27), the squad returned to Rio de Janeiro and reappeared at 3pm, with the start of activities aimed at the next commitment in the Brazilian Championship.

The team led by Tite now needs " turn the key" and focus their attention on the two remaining competitions: the Brasileirão and the semi-finals of the Copa do Brasil. The initial focus will be the duel against Athletico-PR, which takes place next Sunday (29), at 8pm, at Maracanã, for the 28th round of the Brazilian Championship.

PREPARATION FOR THE BRASILEIRÃO

The clash against Athletico-PR will be crucial for Mais Querido, which seeks to consolidate its position among the top four in the table and guarantee a direct place in the next edition of the Libertadores. The technical committee has already indicated that it intends to use maximum force in the confrontation, as the team needs to recover important points in the final stretch of the competition.

In addition, Rubro-Negro also maintains expectations for the semi-final of the World Cup of Brazil, where they face Corinthians. With the early elimination in the Libertadores, Mengão sees the national tournament as an opportunity to close the season with an impressive title.

ELIMINATION IN THE LIBERTADORES

Flamengo even tried, but failed to break through Peñarol's defense in the second leg of the Libertadores quarter-finals. The Rio team dominated possession of the ball, 74% of the time, and made 13 shots, but none of them resulted in a goal. In this way, Peñarol secured its classification with an aggregate score of 1-0, after winning the first game at Maracanã.

Despite the pressure and volume of play presented in Uruguay, CRF was unable to transform their chances at goals, ending the match without being able to take the decision to penalties. The elimination leaves a bitter taste for the red and black fans, who expected a better performance from the team in the continental competition.

Flamengo failed to achieve the long-awaited "miracle of Montevideo" and was eliminated from the Libertadores. Rubro-Negro drew 0-0 with Peñarol, but ended up out of the competition due to a 1-0 defeat at Maracanã. Shortly after the end of the match at Campeón del Siglo, commentator Zinho highlighted coach Tite's responsibility, but also criticized the squad.

“Incompetence of Flamengo. They had ninety minutes to create, organize, they have a better squad, with greater investment, and they didn't turn that into superiority on the field. The coach is partly to blame, but so are the players. Tite looked for solutions, made changes, even had good ideas in the entries. But when we looked at the field, it was a mess”, said Zinho on ESPN.

In the opinion of the former Mais Querido player, both Arrascaeta and Nicolás de la Cruz did not appear in the match. As a result, Flamengo missed the "genius" of the Uruguayans this Thursday night (26).

“There was disorganization in the team, which played better in the first half. There was a lack of a center forward. Flamengo fit into Peñarol's marking. He tried to achieve the result based on will, and not on the organization. De La Cruz and Arrascaeta did not play today. They ran, they dedicated themselves, but I'm talking about technical quality”, he pointed out.

After elimination, Flamengo becomes the key to the Brasileirão

Now, Flamengo focuses its attention on the Brazilian Championship, trying to stay in the G-4. The next challenge will be against Athletico-PR, this Sunday (29), at 8pm, at Maracanã. This will be the first time that Tite will meet the fans again after his first elimination at the helm of the team.
