The debut of the Carioca Women's Championship 2023 was in the last week, between the 23rd and 24th of September. For the first time in its history, Cariocão had a preliminary phase. In this, six teams competed for places in a single round. The four best teams qualified for the Guanabara Cup, in which the four teams with the highest investment enter. Duque de Caxias, Pérolas Negras, Serra Macaense and Tigres qualified, eliminating Búzios and Rio de Janeiro.
The Guanabara Cup will be played in a single round, with seven rounds. The four best placed qualify for the semi-finals, with the Olympic crossing (1st x 4th and 2nd x 3rd). The winners will compete for the decision for Carioca in 2023, in a single game on November 18th. The finalist team with the best campaign will decide at home.
And the prize is impressive, having never been so large. The team that wins first place will receive 25 thousand reais, while the runner-up will receive 15 thousand reais. Both third and fourth place will win R$5,000 each. In addition, all teams that qualified in the preliminary phase will first receive a bonus of R$5,000.
Still in this round, Vasco beat Tigres do Brasil 8-0 this Saturday (30). Fluminense beat Pérolas Negras 4-1 this Sunday (01). Finally, Botafogo will face CEPE-CAXIAS tomorrow (Tuesday) at 4pm (Brasília time). The red and black athletes' next commitment is on the 8th (Sunday) against Fluminense at 10:00 am (Brasília time).
Conmebol appoints Andrés Rojas as referee for the match between Flamengo and Estudiantes at Maracanã and announces new rules for communicating decisions

Conmebol released, on Friday night (12), the refereeing scale for the match between Flamengo and Estudiantes de La Plata , valid for the quarterfinals of the Copa Libertadores. The game will be played next Thursday (18), at 9:30 pm (Brasília time) , at Maracanã, with ESPN broadcast throughout Brazil.
Colombian referee Andrés Rojas was appointed to officiate the match. Well-known to Flamengo fans, he has refereed four Flamengo matches, with a positive record for the Rio de Janeiro club: three wins and one draw.
The most memorable match refereed by Rojas occurred in 2017 , when Flamengo thrashed Palestino 5-0 in the Copa Sudamericana at the Luso-Brasileiro Stadium. In that match, Vinícius Jr. scored his first professional goal for the red-and-black team.
In addition to announcing the schedule, Conmebol announced this Tuesday (16) a new feature for the quarterfinal stage. From this stage onwards, the main referees will immediately communicate their decisions to the entire public present at the stadium, increasing the transparency of the arbitration process.
The winner of the Flamengo vs. Estudiantes match will face the winner of the Vélez Sarsfield vs. Racing match in the semifinals. For this bracket, CONMEBOL has selected Brazilian duo Wilton Pereira Sampaio as the referee and Rodolpho Toski as the VAR manager.
After a serious injury suffered at the Club World Cup, the Chilean continues physiotherapy at the Mais Querido training center; Alex Sandro and the Italian are also recovering.

Flamengo released this Wednesday (17) an update on the clinical condition of midfielder Erick Pulgar . The player suffered a serious injury in June, after a clash with Harry Kane during the Club World Cup round of 16 clash against Bayern Munich.
Pulgar had to be replaced immediately and taken to the hospital. After more than two months away, the Chilean returned to the club's Training Center , where he is undergoing physiotherapy work on the pitch.
Flamengo reported that, this Wednesday (17), all players trained on the field. Erick Pulgar continues with physiotherapy activities on the lawn, as previously announced . The athlete may return to the club next month.
Alex Sandro and Jorginho, also injured, are in the transition phase and are completing conditioning exercises under the supervision of physiotherapists. Both remain unavailable for Filipe Luís's squad. The rest of the group trained normally.
