Wolverhampton, João Gomes's team, is not working on an agreement to appoint Vítor Pereira, formerly of Flamengo, as its new head coach, following the departure of Gary O’Neil. The Premier League club is willing to pay the release clause in the 56-year-old's contract with Saudi Pro League side Al Shabab. Personal terms should not be an issue as VP would be interested in moving to Molineux and excited about the quality of the squad.
Vitor Pereira has built a strong reputation for his ability to deal with big names and improve players, as well as speaking multiple languages, including fluent English.
If the points-per-game rate he achieved for most of his coaching career is replicated at the West Midlands club, it should be enough to keep the team in the top flight.
According to 'The Athletic', the factors that led Wolverhampton to target Vitor Pereira are the disciplineand the emotional sensitivity that he applies to his work, both considered particularly important given the recent problems faced by Wolves.

The 41-year-old had signed a new four-year contract with the club in August, but this season has been far more disappointing, with just two league wins before the decision to sack him. lo, following the defeatto Ipswich Town on Saturday.
That result — decided by a 94th-minute goal — came five days after Monday's 2-1 defeat to West Ham. In 16 Premier League games, Wolverhampton conceded 40 goals. Wolves return to the field on Saturday against Leicester City.
At Flamengo
In his short spell at Flamengo, what was most important for his dismissal was the the fact that he was defeated in all the finals he played for the club until then: Recopa Sul-Americana; Brazilian Super Cup; and Campeonato Carioca. Furthermore, lost the semi-final of the Club World Cup to Al-Hilal and ended up in third place.
Vítor Pereira left Mais Querido with a performance of 57%, which was the worst among the three coaches who were at the head of the team in 2023. Sampaoli, after playing 39 games, losing eight, drawing 11 and winning 20, came out with a 60.7% success rate. Tite was with the team in 12 games, winning seven, one draw and having four defeats. The utilization was 60.8%.
