During his appearance on a Flamengo TV program this Sunday (22), Zico made it clear that he sees no reason to worry about the Mais Querido's next opponent in the Club World Cup. According to the idol, the Rio de Janeiro team showed maturity and competitive capacity in the last round and is ready to face any of its possible rivals: Bayern Munich, Benfica or Boca Juniors.

"When you're well prepared, whatever comes your way is coming your way. You can't choose your opponent in a competition like this . A lot of people said that Boca weren't doing well, they came and played a great game against Benfica. They did well in the game against Bayern and now they're playing against the weakest team in the group, while the other two will fight. I think that Flamengo are prepared for whatever comes their way, they showed that in the last match. I don't think there's a problem," said the former number 10.
Flamengo has already secured first place in Group D and is awaiting the definition of the second place in Group C. The decision will be on Tuesday (24), with the following matches: Benfica x Bayern Munich and Boca Juniors x Auckland City. For the Argentines to advance, they will need to thrash their opponents and hope for a defeat for Benfica, reversing a seven-goal difference in goal difference.

Flamengo officially announced the signing of Colombian midfielder Jorge Carrascal this Thursday (31). At 27 years old, the player arrived in Rio de Janeiro after a long journey of more than 19 hours , coming from Russia, where he played for Dynamo Moscow. He is the fourth reinforcement confirmed by the club in the window, alongside Saúl, Emerson Royal and Samuel Lino.
The acquisition of Carrascal represents another step in Flamengo's ambitious project for the remainder of the season. To complete the deal with the Russian club, Flamengo paid 12 million euros— approximately R$77.5 million at the current exchange rate —in a negotiation that dragged on for weeks.
This Thursday (31), the midfielder appeared at Ninho do Urubu, where he underwent medical examinations , visited the facilities at CT George Helal and met with the Technical Director of Football, José Boto. After the completion of the procedures, the player signed a contract with Flamengo.
Carrascal's official presentation was scheduled to take place at the Maracanã stadium before the Copa do Brasil round of 16 clash against Atlético-MG.
