Zico, the greatest idol in Flamengo's history, showed great modesty in an interview that went viral on social media in recent days. When he was compared to Neymar, Ronaldinho, Messi, Platini, Maradona, Cruyff and Pelé, Zico gave his opinion on each player and made a comparison in numbers.

When asked if he was better than Ronaldinho, the eternal number 10 He said yes, however, he pointed out one characteristic that the Wizard was better at. Ronaldinho Gaúcho had a brilliant career wherever he went. There were eight clubs in total, but with emphasis on PSG, Barcelona and Milan.

In Brazil, Ronaldinho Gaúcho played for Flamengo between 2011 and 2012. As Zico well portrayed, R10 was one of the most skilled in football, but not very efficient in terms of numbers: 782 games and 299 goals in 17 years of career.

“Ah, no in terms of skill. Maybe in objectivity, yes.”

Zico, known for his humility and respect for other players, demonstrated once again his modesty by stating that he did not play more than Lionel Messi. It is worth mentioning that Messi is considered one of the greatest players in the history of football, and his victory in the World Cup in 2022 with the Argentine national team certainly contributes to his prominent position.

In terms of numbers, Messi accumulates 819 goals in his career, 672 of which were scored for Barcelona. Even though statistics can be used as a reference, football is a complex art and comparing players from different eras is always subjective. Each of the players mentioned has their own unique achievements and contributions to the sport.

“It's also neck and neck there. In terms of skill, I'm not even close to Neymar. But it's the same as Ronaldinho, one thing is objectivity and another is technique. I think I win in one part and he in the other.”

Another player still active, Neymar is constantly compared to Zico. However, his numbers still leave him behind what Galinho has already achieved. Al-Hilal's number 10 has 439 goals in his 14-year career so far. Both have deep admiration for each other: Neymar has already considered Zico as an inspiration, and the Flamengo idol often defends the number 10.
