However, the entity decided to postpone only teams from the south. However, now the Federal Government is the one intervening to ask for a stoppage.

In an interview with ESPN, the Minister of Sports, André Fufuca, asks the CBF to stop the Brasileirão, as teams from the south are unable to prepare for the matches and This puts everyone at a disadvantage. Thus, he says he is making a move with the CBF so that both men's and women's football can stop for a while.

"In view of the scenario of public calamity and the severe consequences of the floods for the population of Rio Grande, of the South, we will defend with the CBF the temporary suspension of the men's and women's Brazilian Football Championships", said Fufuca in an interview with ESPN.

CBF TEMPORARY DECISION

The CBF decided that only matches involving teams from Rio Grande do Sul are postponed and the rest of the games take place normally. However, with the request of the Federal Government, the highest football entity can accept and put the decision into force.

While the CBF does not decide which direction the Brazilian football will take place, Flamengo continues to prepare to face Corinthians, on Saturday (11), at Maracanã, in the sixth round of the Brasileirão.
