The creation of Ninho, Renato Augusto, is close to reinforcing a rival from Rubro Negro. The midfielder did not have his contract renewed with Corinthians and will be free on the transfer market in January. However, the player already has his path mapped out. This is because, according to GE, he reached an agreement with Fluminense on the afternoon of this Friday (8).

rival from Rio reached an agreement with Renato Augusto for a one-year contract with an option to renew for another season. The midfielder chose Fluminense because he could work with Fernando Diniz. Before reaching Flamengo's youth teams, the player played for the Laranjeiras club's futsal team.

Corinthians coach Mano Menezes made it clear that he would not count on the player in 2024. Team idol From São Paulo, midfielder Renato Augusto says goodbye after a long spell and notable titles for the club, such as the 2015 Brazilian Championship.  


In 2023, Renato Augusto suffered from an excess of injuries, but played 45 matches (35 as a starter), with six goals and ten assists. In addition to the midfielder, Fluminense is also hiring another former Flamengo player, defender Antônio Carlos. Both will not be able to play in the Club World Cup.

FLAMENGO MILLIONAIRE SALE

Renato Augusto debuted for Flamengo in June 2005, in a match against Corinthians, in the Brazilian Championship. The midfielder stayed at Rubro Negro for three and a half seasons before moving to Bayern Leverkusen, in Germany. The sale was completed for 5.2 million euros. In total, the player has 95 appearances for Mais Querido with 11 goals scored, in addition to the Copa do Brasil title in 2006 and two Cariocas (2007 and 2008).

Tite defined Flamengo and announced the 11 starters who will face Peñarol, this Thursday, at Maracanã, at 7pm. De la Cruz returns to the starting lineup in place of Léo Ortiz, and Alex Sandro and Plata were retained. The duel with the Uruguayans is the first between the teams in the quarter-finals of the Copa Conmebol Libertadores.



Following is the Red and Black lineup:Rossi, Varela, Fabrício Bruno, Léo Pereira and Alex Sandro; Pulgar, De la Cruz, Gerson and Arrascaeta; Plata and Bruno Henrique.

Alex Sandro and Plata, debutants in last Sunday's classic, remain in the team after having good performances in the draw against Vasco. Gabigol is now out of the relationship due to fibrosis in the posterior muscle of his right thigh. Flamengo, in a statement, reported that the athlete did not suffer any injury in the region. "The Clube de Regatas do Flamengo informs that the athlete Gabriel Barbosa underwent tests that did not diagnose an injury to the posterior muscle of his right thigh. However, the Technical Committee opted for precaution and did not list him for the duel against Peñarol due to fibrosis in the region. Gabi is handed over to physiotherapists and physical trainers for the series of decisive games of the season."
