Criciúma is looking for a victory against Flamengo this Saturday to move away from the relegation zone. Something that hasn't happened for 21 years, when the Santa Catarina team beat Rubro-Negro 4-3. The duel, valid for the 18th round of the Brazilian Championship, takes place at the Mané Garrincha Stadium, in Brasília.
In history they are 15 clashes, with only three victories for the Carvoeiro team. The last one in 2003 at the Heriberto Hülse Stadium. In a match with seven goals, Criciúma took a 4-0 lead in the first half - with goals from Leonardo, Léo Oliveira (2x), and Paulo Baier. Several Uruguayan newspapers covered the tie between Flamengo and Vasco this Sunday (15). Among the main vehicles, “El País” and “Montevidéu Portal” highlighted that Luiz Araújo left the classic with a possible knee injury and could be absent for Rubro-Negro in the first game of the Libertadores quarter-finals against Peñarol, next Thursday (19).
