Do lado mexicano, o técnico Nicolás Larcamón enfrenta problemas sérios de última hora para montar sua retaguarda. O Cruz Azul não poderá contar com duas peças fundamentais: Jesús Orozco e Andrés Montaño, ambos vetados pelo departamento médico devido a lesões.
A situação de Jesús Orozco é a que mais preocupa a comissão técnica.
