Midfielder Gustavo Scarpa was one of Flamengo's targets in this transfer window, however, the player did not accept Rubro Negro's proposal and ended up making an agreement with Atlético MG. In a presentation interview this Monday afternoon (15), the player explained that the reason he refused Mais Querido was the possibility of returning to the Brazilian team.
“Rodrigo Caetano knows that I had other opportunities, other offers, but I understood and decided together with my wife to accept Atlético-MG's proposal, which is very good. As I said before, because of the weight of investing in the Atlético shirt, because I want to experience new things. The Selection was also a burden. I really saw Paulinho and Arana return from Europe with a performance that was perhaps not as high, not as good as they wanted and here at Atlético they regained their place to the point of reaching the national team”, said Gustavo in his presentation.

This will be the second time that the venue hosts a tournament decision, after having hosted Flamengo 's historic victory over River Plate in 2019.
