After Flamengo's victory over Vasco this Sunday afternoon (22), Rubro Negro goalkeeper Augustín Rossi was asked about the Libertadores final between Fluminense x Boca Juniors that will take place on November 4, at Maracanã. In the mixed zone of the stadium, the defender was short and blunt when asked by a reporter if he had received a call from a Boca athlete. One of Flamengo's main players in 2024, Gerson has been fundamental under Tite's command. This year, Gerson leads the list of Serie A athletes with the most minutes on the field since returning from surgery at the beginning of the season.
In March 2024, Gerson underwent kidney surgery due to hydronephrosis, a problem kidney that kept him away from Flamengo for around a month and a half. Since his return, the athlete has participated in all 37 Flamengo matches, in addition to two more for the Brazilian National Team.
