One of Fla's current idols and recently retired from the field since the end of 2022, Diego Ribas assumed the role of "player's father". Davi Moura plays for the under-13 team Flamengo and the former midfielder closely follows his firstborn's steps.

"I'm a very active father. I'm constantly learning too, so I can be efficient in this partnership. intimacy with my son, which is important. He is able to share his doubts, fears, and when we achieve that, we are able to share it. I suffer like hell with them (laughs), but this experience is incredible", said Diego, to UOL.

Diego gave a talk at IberCup. This year's edition of the tournament featured more than 400 teams from across the country, and 5,000 athletes competing in categories from under-8 to under-14 in men's and women's football. The competition featured children of players and former players. Marcelo's sons, Ganso and Felipe Melo, all from Fluminense, and Arouca, who had spells at Flu, São Paulo, Santos and Palmeiras

Davi became another link between Diego and Flamengo. The former player played for the Gávea club from 2016 to 2022, and won two Libertadores, two Brazilians, among other titles.

“The main link ends up being the whole story, the strong relationship I lived with Flamengo. My son is in Rio, he's happy, it's the city we chose to live in. I'm welcomed here. My son is on this mission now, and I'm happy. the former player.

The former number 10 praised Filipe Luis. They were teammates at Rubro-Negro and the full-back became a coach at Fla's own base. He is currently in the under-20s, after playing in the under-17s.

"I have constant contact with my former teammates. What we built during our time at Flamengo was extraordinary. Not only on the field, but outside It's also a very friendly relationship. Filipe is thriving, as I expected. I know he's prepared and is getting even more prepared." >

Carlinhos' performance in the last classic between Flamengoand Vasco, played on Sunday, has generated a wave of criticism and questions from the red and black fans. The striker, who entered the field in the 18th minute of the second half, replacing Bruno Henrique, played a discreet role and ended up failing to help the team in one of the most decisive moments of the match.

The classic, as always , it was an intense game and much awaited by both fans, with great weight for the championship table and the morale of the teams. However, Carlinhos' entry, which lasted just 27 minutes, was considered below expectations, especially in a scenario where Flamengo was looking for a victory to distance itself from its rivals.

FLAMENGO HAS A WEAKNESS IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP

During the 27 minutes he was on the field, Carlinhos barely appeared, failing to influence the game as expected. The player only touched the ball a few times, did not create clear scoring chances and also did not help efficiently in the defensive system. With an apathetic performance, the striker ended up becoming a target of frustration for the fans, who expected more from a player who, at other times, had already demonstrated the potential to be decisive.

The lack of offensive participation was a of the main points raised by critics. In a game that required creativity and boldness to break through the Vasco blockade, Carlinhos was unable to find spaces or impose his presence as a constant threat to the opponent's goal. In classics, where every detail makes a difference, this lack of protagonism weighed even more.

The replacement of Bruno Henrique by Carlinhoswas also a factor that generated discussion. Bruno Henrique, although he was not having a brilliant performance, is a player recognized for his ability to decide games, especially in big confrontations. His departure 18 minutes into the second half was justified by the technical committee as part of the planning to spare the athlete, who recently returned from injury.

After taking charge of Flamengo, Tite, former coach of the Brazilian national team, made it clear that he is quickly adapting to the club's culture. In recent statements, he highlighted Rubro-Negro's striking characteristic: the incessant search for all possible titles. According to the coach, this spirit of intense competition is something that he not only admires, but is also incorporating into his own work philosophy.

Tite, known for his meticulous and results-focused work, revealed that the Transition to Flamengo involves constant learning, especially in relation to the club's winning mentality. "Flamengo has this culture of fighting for every title. There is no focus on just one competition, the goal is to win everything within reach", he explained.

THE COACH WANTS A COMPETITIVE STYLE

This characteristic is notable in Flamengoin recent years, which has won several important competitions, such as the Brazilian Championship and the Copa Libertadores. Tite, accustomed to pressure and the need for results, states that this mentality is something he is adopting in his day-to-day life at the club. “I see this culture, and this is what we are doing. Flamengo has this requirement, and I am a coach who likes this type of challenge.”

Although Tite has an established career, with successful spells at clubs such as Corinthians and the Brazilian national team, Flamengo represents a new experience for the coach. He is now at the helm of a team that has traditionally had fans calling for victories in every competition they compete in, something he sees as a positive challenge.

"You have to learn every day Even with the experience I have, here I realize that there are very high expectations, but at the same time that's what makes you grow", commented the coach. For him, working at a club that maintains such a high level of demand motivates him to always seek the best.

This past Tuesday (10), Wallim Vasconcelos, pre-candidate for the presidency of Flamengo, participated in an interview with Coluna do Fla. On the program, the former director stated that he wants to hire Diego Ribas to be his new football director. However, the priority is to have a foreigner in the position.

"No, there are no negotiations. I talk a lot with Leonardo, I'm going to ask for recommendations since he doesn't want to return to Brazil. I admire Monchi a lot, who was from Sevilla (ESP), but you wouldn't come from Brazil. My idea is to bring someone with that qualification so that in two, three years we can train someone who knows Brazilian football and Flamengo and the person can continue with this work" , he said.

"Who knows, maybe a Diego Ribas from life, who could be with this group. He already has a certain amount of knowledge. Or not, let's bring someone to stay here for a long time and help develop the Flamengo's football management. We're going to bring in someone from outside. The model we want to implement is an outside model. DOES NOT INTEND TO WORK IN CLUBS POSITIONS

Diego Ribas hung up his boots at the end of 2022. Since then, the former Mais Querido signed a contract with Rede Globo to be the network's new commentator and has already worked in several important competitions . After leaving the field, the idol rubro-negro denied the possibility of working directly with the sport at the moment.

"I don't think about being directly linked to football. At this moment, I want to have autonomy from my schedule. More time for myself, more time for my family. And when you connect directly with football, you lose that", he commented, before finishing:
