This past Wednesday (23), Flamengo beat Bragantino, in a match valid for the Brasileirão. However, hours before the match, Mais Querido fired the head of the medical department, José Luiz Runco , after the professional had messages leaked where he criticized the hiring of Nico De La Cruz. Thus, after the game, Arrascaeta vented about what happened.
Arrascaeta speaks out about controversy with De La Cruz: "Regardless of who it is, whether it's Nico or another player, we have to be together."
He continued: "Because it's very difficult to stay focused on the field and in training when things like this happen. But we know that, at Flamengo, I've been here for six years and a lot of things always happen ," Arrascaeta began, before adding:
"Still, we need to stay focused on the field, trying to do our best. And off the field, we always try not to let this become a problem. But sometimes specific situations arise that are very difficult ," concluded Flamengo's number 10.
The controversy began after a message from José Luiz Runco, then the club's general medical director, was shared in a WhatsApp group. In the message, Runco questioned De La Cruz's physical condition, highlighting chronic injuries to both of his knees.
He also stated that the sale of De La Cruz would only make sense for clubs interested in reasons other than competitive football. The statements generated great repercussions and, this Wednesday (23), the medical director was fired from Mais Querido.
Thus, with Runco fired, Flamengo 's squad focuses its attention on the next commitment of the season. The Most Beloved returns to the field on Sunday (27), in a match against Atlético-MG, for the 17th round of the Brasileirão, at 8:30 pm.
Mengão hosts Raposa in the 26th round of the Brazilian Championship and fans are keeping an eye on the channels that will broadcast the match.

Flamengo hosts Cruzeiro this Thursday (2), at Maracanã, for the 26th round of the Brazilian Championship . The ball rolls at 8:30 pm (Brasília time). The duel will not be broadcast on open TV. SporTV will show the game on subscription TV, while Premiere will broadcast it on pay-per-view.
Coach Filipe Luís will be without Erick Pulgar, who is still recovering from surgery on his right foot. Four players are also on suspension: Léo Pereira, Alex Sandro, Allan, and Arrascaeta . If they receive a yellow card, they will miss the 27th round against Bahia.
