Midfielder Giorgian de Arrascaeta was once again decisive for Flamengo after almost a month away due to a muscle injury. In the 1-0 victory over Bahia, the player scored the goal that guaranteed Mais Querido's qualification for the fourth consecutive semi-final of the Copa do Brasil. His performance was highlighted, even with disagreements within the technical committee regarding his playing condition.

Arrascaeta suffered an injury in the match against Botafogo, on August 18, which left him sidelined until this week. During the recovery period at Ninho do Urubu, the Uruguayan was treated intensively for an injury to the back of his thigh. His selection against Bahia was the subject of debate between coach Tite and the medical team, who ended up releasing the player after positive evaluations.

COMMISSION DECISION TECHNIQUE AND IMPACT ON THE GAME

Despite the uncertainties about his physical form, Arrascaeta's entry into the clash against Bahia was decisive. He scored the only goal of the match, ensuring Mengão's qualification for the next stage. Despite leaving the field feeling some discomfort, the midfielder left the Maracanã without any major concerns, and the club believes he just felt the natural wear and tear of the game. Arrascaeta will be re-evaluated to ensure that it is in ideal condition for the next challenges.

ARRASCAETA'S PERFORMANCE IN THE SEASON

Even though he is not in his best physical shape, the Uruguayan continues to be one of the CRF's main players this season. With eight goals and 10 assists, he has stood out for his consistency in decisive plays. Without the presence of Pedro, who is also injured, Arrascaeta has assumed a crucial role in both creating plays and finishing.
PREPARATION FOR THE NEXT PLAY CONFRONTS

With a place in the semi-finals of the Copa do Brasil guaranteed, the club's focus now turns to the next challenges. On Sunday, Flamengo will face Vasco in the Brazilian Championship. Furthermore, next week, the team will have the first duel of the Libertadores quarter-finals, against Peñarol, at Maracanã. The physical condition of players, including Arrascaeta, will be closely monitored to ensure the best performance in competitions.
