Flamengo is considering requesting once again to postpone the signing of the final agreement for the purchase of the Gasômetro land, where the club's stadium will be built. The trend is that the deadline, which ends on April 9, will be extended for another 90 days.

Initially, the Gávea club prefers to finish the feasibility studies for the land. This is because BAP, the new president of Flamengo, does not trust the project presented by Rodolfo Landim, former president of Fla. The reason given by his peers was that it was "superficial" and rushed due to the presidential election.

No influence on the start of stadium construction

The extension, in the view of President Bap and his peers, will not influence the start of construction, since the works depend on the decontamination of the land and the relocation of the gas station of the Gas Distribution Company (CEG), which is managed by the company Naturgy.

The club has been meeting weekly with people from the City Hall to discuss the project. Talks with Naturgy have also progressed in recent weeks. Mayor Eduardo Paes has committed to covering the costs of decontaminating the land, and Flamengo will present the figures.

After this process of analysis and negotiations, Flamengo will begin the works. The studies in progress are as follows:

Surroundings (roads and urban furniture), with validation from the Military Police;

Relocation of Naturgy (pipelines and substation);

Decontamination and probing (including Naturgy area);

Adjustments to foundation costs and land clearing.
