According to MRN,  financial statement for the third quarter, Flamengo presents numbers that demonstrate a considerable increase in spending on football compared to 2022. The values reveal a significant growth trend, which deserves attention and analysis. In 2022, in the same period, the club's total expenditure on football amounted to R$527.9 million. In 2023, during the third quarter, this amount jumped to R$657.4 million, representing an increase of 24.5%. This significant figure highlights the robust investment that Flamengo has directed towards its football team.

However, when we focus only on players' salaries and image rights, the expansion is even more pronounced. In the third quarter of 2022, these costs totaled R$201 million, but in 2023 they reached the mark of R$258.6 million. This represents a notable increase of 28.6%. This salary increase reflects the club's commitment to maintaining and attracting talent to the squad, recognizing the value of its players.

In addition, the financial report also reveals that the total expenses with remuneration of athletes and club employees football department grew 34.1%, from R$264.8 million to R$355.2 million. It is important to note that this increase may be related to the fines for terminating the contracts of former coaches Vitor Pereira and Jorge Sampaoli, demonstrating the challenges of maintaining stability in the technical team.

Another point that deserves to be highlighted is the increase in 12% on expenses related to purchases and contract renewals. During the first nine months of 2023, the club invested R$266.5 million in this aspect, compared to the R$237.7 million spent throughout 2022. It is worth noting that the balance sheet does not present the numbers from the last quarter of 2022, which suggests that the final value of 2022 may have been even higher.

This analysis of expenses with purchases and contract renewals becomes even more relevant when considering the possibility of new renewals, such as of Bruno Henrique, Everton Ribeiro and Gabigol in the coming months. These players represent fundamental pillars in the team, and renewing their contracts would certainly imply an additional increase in football spending.

In a post on Instagram, the mayor informed that the city hall will be responsible for removing the megastructure on the gas meter site, different from what was reported. Furthermore, he guaranteed that Flamengo will have its new stadium, with the best conditions and security.

The news published by Ancelmo informs that Flamengo would have to pay R$100 million to remove a large gas structure present on land acquired by the club, which is owned by CEG and CEG-Rio, which are companies that are part of the gas concessionaire Naturgy.

According to the article, the companies were informed that Flamengo is the responsible for bearing the expenses, as provided for in one of the annexes to the land purchase and transfer contract. The clause, however, does not have a specified limit.

Paes stated that the values for the transfer of the structure are different from what was pointed out in the article by Ancelmo Gois. Furthermore, it exempted Flamengo from any responsibility, and that the city hall has been planning to remove it for years.

“They are making me defend @flamengo more than I would like: let it be clear that this is not the The cost of this transfer and when it happens will be the responsibility of the city of Rio, which knows that this structure cannot be in an area that is already receiving so many residential buildings. It's been in our plans for a long time! Flamengo will have its new stadium there in the gasometer with all the quality and safety that the region demands and deserves. Period!”, published the mayor.
