Leila Pereira, president of Palmeiras, came to the club's defense and clarified the situation in relation to Gabigol. According to her, there is no pre-contract signed with the player and any news in this regard is false. Leila emphasized that, despite the desire to have Gabigol in the squad from 2025 onwards, there are no ongoing negotiations or signed documents.
